MySpace EditorI rather be dancing than doing just about anything.Skiing is a close second though. Music is my other passion. I've grown up going to concerts and festivals. Reggae on the River is one of my favorites. That's where I first saw Michael Franti, Jr. Gong and the rest of the Marleys, Anthony B, Buju, Capleton, Third World, Isreal Vibration, President Brown, Sizzla, Lucky Dube, not to mention countless other artists that are world renowned performers. I love the connection and energy you get from being in the front row of a live show. The only comparable high is actually being on stage yourself. I live to perform and plan on making a life of it.

My Interests

Music fascinates me. One of the reasons I love to dance so much is because it is another way of listening to music, a way to interpret it through movement and energy. Whether through ballet, jazz, modern, acrobatics, hip hop, or straight crumpin I'm down. Aside from the perfroming arts, I love to ski, preferably powder- steep and deep, backcountry, or the park. I saved up and got the new twin tip stoeklis this year and love em. I've been skiing Scweitzer Mt. for almost twenty years. In that time I developed a very deep sence of respect and reverence for the mountains. A few summers ago I learned to surf in Costa Rica, and it was rad. I love to swim, go camping, party, travel and run. It's important for me to stay active because I get bored really easy. I definitely need my down time though. Bubble baths, reading and hanging with my friends and boyfriend are essential parts of my life. I love animals and would love a chocolate lab.

I'd like to meet:

As many people as I can. One of the best parts of traveling is all of the random encounters you experience. You never know when you are about to make a new lifetime friend. As a kid my dad always refered to strangers as "friends you haven't met yet." Currently I speak English and am close to fluency in Spanish. However, one of my goals in life is to learn as many different languages as I can. Communication can be such a barrier. Imagine how many more people you could meet by learning a new language. It opens the door to an endless facet of new opportunities.

Music:

As a kid, I grew up listening to reggae and the Grateful Dead. Jerry Garcia, David Grisman, Bob Marley, Peter Tosh, Phil Lesh, Jimmy Hendrix, the Stones... all masters. By middle school I had another list going for me: Tupac, Wu-Tang, Eminem, Dr. Dre, BIG, KRS One, Sublime, Outkast... Hip hop is one of the the greatest revolutionary movements of our time. It unites people of all race, age, religion and social status by letting them connect and express through lyrical prose, beat and bass. Nas, Aesop, Atmosphere, Andre, Talib, Living Legends, Dre Dog, Sage Francis, Saul Williams, Heiroglyphics, Del, Damian, Lauryn Hill, Sweatshop, Swollen Members, Zion I, Mos Def,Dead Prez, Imortal Technique, a few of my many favorites. I love the underground movement, and tend to be skeptical about those who make it big, but thouroughly impressed with those who do and still keep it real. I also love rock and roll, alt., punk, classical, world music, reggae, drum and base trance, techno, infact, I really can't think of much that I don't like. Well, I'm not really for pop crap, country, death metal's a serious buzz kill. But I respect all artists for opening themselves up and doing what they love.

Books:

I like to always be reading at least one book. Lately I've been reading every book I can find about Spain, the Lonely Planet is super informative. White Oleander is a novel I'm reading about a teenage girl and her hell beaten path through foster care. It's very graphic but moving. I just finished a book called Middlesex. It was about an adolescent girl who finds out she is a hermaphrodite. It told of her family's imigration and incest, their trials and weakness. It was captivating.

Heroes:

My parents are my heroes. My mother for her unbelievable strength, her energy and kindness. She is the most selfless and inspirational person I've ever known. My father because he was my best friend. He taught me who I wanted to be and made me push myself to become it. He lived life to the fullest working hard every day but still coming home and went for a bike ride. He was the fastest skier I've ever known and shared with me, the best powder day ever. He taught me to ski, ride a bike, throw a foot ball, play sports and be a leader. He gives me strength and guidance every day and re-enforces my morals.
