About Me

Paul Souls musical career started way back in 1991, when he landed his first residency at the legendary Club Labrynth in Londons East End, playing oldskool breaks every Friday and Saturday under the pseudonym Frenzy. This led to guest slots at the Tasco Warehouse, Roller Express, Soundshaft and also another residency at the Lazerdrome in Peckham, playing with such names as Prodigy, Shy FX, Carl Cox, LTJ Bukem, Joey Beltram, Shades of Rhythm amongst others. In October 1992 he started working with Ravescene magazine organising charts and music reviews, as well as assisting in the promotion of the magazines monthly event Double Dipped.Paul then met Billy (Lapdog) and Chris Jarvis (Heart and Soul) and formed alive Electronic music act named Repetitive Beat Syndrome, a pun on the clause in the Criminal Justice Bill set up by the UK government to prevent people from playing dance music in public. The trio played live gigs in the London and Essex area throughout the nineties.During the mid-nineties, heavily influenced by house music, Paul developed his uplifting and funky sound and in 1999 he started his own promotion with Family Parties. These were first held in small, intimate venues holding around 100 people, there was no advertising for the parties it was all word of mouth and they were known for the great vibe.In 2003 Paul decided to join forces with long term friend and Synthetec Sunday promoter Cristian Vargas to form Sizzle Parties, which are still going on to this day. Sizzle is held in a variety of venues including a disused railway station and various recording studios and not forgetting the annual boat party. Sizzle has been a port of call for some great artists including Colin Dale, John Larner, The Littlemen, Funky Transport, Spincycle, Nils Hess, Murf, DJ Quiz, Big Hair, Bionic Bump Band, plus many moreAs well as promoting parties in London, Paul also works with Asad Rizvi and Tom Gillieron for Reverberations and Wrong Recordings, two well established and respected labels in the London house music community. The duo have also been remixing artists including Rob Pearson, Harold Heath, and Tom Baker and Lawrence Mohammed, with more to come this year.Alongside residencies at his Sizzle parties and Reverberations events in London, Pauls uplifting party sound has been heard over sound-systems at some of Londons hottest underground parties including Kerffufle, WhoopWhoop, and Wiggle to clubs around the world in countries including France, Cyprus, Australia , Finland, Costa Rica, Panama, Hawaii, and Bulgaria where Paul plays regularly and has compiled a cover mount CD for one of the countries leading lifestyle publications 1 Magazine selling 6,500 copies.
