We Be On Fire

About Me

MyGen Profile Generator The band's origins date back to 2001. Marky and D-Boy had already been playing together in rock act Fat: BABE who achieved notable success on a local level, releasing 3 albums and regularly selling out the Portsmouth Wedgewood Rooms. A brush with fame was spearheaded by their tongue in cheek cover of the Spice Girls' 'Wannabe' but was cut short when they were refused permission to release it as a single.
After Fat: BABE split in 2001, the pair continued to write new material incorporating elements of funk and hip hop into the sound as well as metal. As this was in a different vein to the hard rock of Fat: BABE it was decided that this group would adopt a new moniker and thus MoFo was born. New Boys Joe "Biggy" on Bass and Scotty D, formerly from local band K'junga, fronts the band with an awesome combination of singing, rapping and a touch of screaming.
The band had their first gig at Portsmouth's Alcatraz@The White Swan in Aug 2004 and released their debut E.P. at the Wedgewood rooms on 23rd December 2004. They have been invited to play with signed artists such as Skindred , Dog Eat Dog and Weapons and played several of their own headline sell-out shows in the South Coast area, gaining an ever growing loyal fan base and reputation for energetic and dynamic live performances. The chemistry between the four is undeniable and makes a stunning line up, loved by with MoFo fans everywhere.
There have been a few line up changes along the way after and the ex MoFo members are bassist Stevie T (left in Nov 2006 - moved to the U.S.A). Bassist no.2 was Steve "Thumbs" (who also left to see the world). Frontman JD (left in June 2006 – went to Greece for a few months and is now back working once again with his old band Black Andrew), vocalist Rob (left in April 2006 - now McQ, working on solo projects) and most recently Ian, The Ewok, Leighfield who has gone to travel the world and at 21 we probably would have done the same thing!
Be ready for Mofo To Hit you again in 2008 with a new line up and a host of new songs. We still Be on Fire!!!
