About Me

Thanks for checking me out. I am new at this whole "internet" thing so please bare with me. Okay, so I am from Chicago (Southside) and I lived in New Orleans for a while and attended Dillard University. Most people would say that I am "REAL." Guess what baby, I tells it like it is. I must say for myself that I am REAL and FUN. I enjoy reading books, writing poetry, listening to music, hanging with my family, SHOPPING and most importantly, going to church. Okay so I just found a new church in Chicago and it is the BOMB. Those of you all who are looking for a nice lied back church...a church where you can wear jeans...and a FUNNY pastor, be my guest one day at The Salem Baptist Church of Chicago (www.sbcoc.org). Enough about that. Whatelse do you ned to know...there is only so much I will tell via the internet...so...oh yea I am in graduate school at Roosevelt University in Chicago so I am smart for those of you all were wondering. As I digress, just know that I am really a nice loving person who loves to hlep those in need.

My Interests

Learning more about God. Reading books and talking to old people...they have SO MUCH wisdom.

Music:

Gospel of course...that new Kirk Franklin and Byron Cage are off the chain...I LOVE neo soul music (Donnie, India Arie, Erykah Badu...all that) Rap is kind of cool, but sometimes it gives me a headache. Rock is hot to...Three Doors Down is my favorite alternative group. I would have to say that Nora Jones is the best also.

Movies:

My all time favorite is Polly (the C-block can feel me on this one...only people at Dillard University know what I am talking about). Let's see, what else. Two Can Play That Game, Love Jones, High Crimes, Wrong Turn, Dangerous Minds, Love & Basketball, Crooklyn, Losing Isaiah...this list can go on and on...I like all movies EXPECT for Star Wars!

Television:

The Apprentice, Real World, America's Next Top Model, Trading Spouses, American Idol...forget it...all reality shows...,Golden Girls, the Nanny, Roseane, The Cosby Show, Fresh Prince, Jamie Fox, Martin, 227, Amen, Living Single,The Parkers....and I have to throw in the local news (only because I am a journalism major).

Books:

Heroes:

The men and women who helped all those people and who even risked thier lives on 9/11. My sister for pulling her way through a tough illness. My daddy for also pulling his way through a tough illness. These are two STRONG people who I think are heroes.
