About Me

I hate writing about myself...somehow it depresses me. It's like you are trying to sell yourself, and well really....I guess take me or leave me. I am who I am.
I like to take photos, find treasures at yard sales, walk and look at architecture, dream of houses and decorating, I like being with my cats, they make me laugh. Laughter is good for the soul. I have been enjoying biking and getting back outdoors. I'm a country-city slicker extraordinaire.
I absolutely love to travel...whenever I can find the time I like to jet away somewhere 'exotic'. I am in the Chicagoland area almost every week for work.
So when I'm not traveling, I like to sit and relax at a cafe... If the weather is nice, I want to be outdoors, I want to feel the sun and watch others go about their day.
I like movies with subtitles...and I have been told the movies I like are really depressing...I guess I like movies that evoke some emotion....a little more than shoot-em-up films with silly plots
I lived in Germany for a while and speak the language fairly well. I miss it there sometimes. I can sing well enough to make a bar full of drunks go silent. I enjoy cooking and I have two wonderful little cats.
Someday I want to get married and have a family. Will that happen anytime soon? Probably not...I have too many things going on in life. Doesn't mean I can't talk about it, does it?
I don't need extravagant things to be happy. In fact, I am quite creative with what I have. Recently I learned I don't need a large Northshore home, an expensive car....really I just want to enjoy the company of the people in my life, they mean more to me than material things. I learned a lot about myself during that time. I think I truly experienced love for the first time.

I'd like to meet:

There are many people that were at one point in my life, and now they have moved on. Little things remind me of them, it's amazing how the thought of someone can still make your heart race or make you smile, even when they are no longer there. I think of them often, I will never forget the space they filled in my heart, some have been gone for months...others, years...some I will probably never speak to again. Lesson learned? Maybe. Do I have regrets? A few...but I can't linger on the past. After all, I have a life to live....

I'd break it down to: an outdoorsy, clean-cut yet artistic, hard working, cool-geek, fashionably dressed, world traveling-environmentalist. Honest, funny, close to their family, understanding, sincere. LOL ok maybe that doesn't exist. I can wish though, right? :)
