About Me

In Bordeaux, low city at the edge of waters, city of ornately carved stone and little greenery, I dream my once-lush-from-sea-to-shining-sea homeland dry and cracked, decimated by some unspecified apocalypse, one that comes slowly or strikes quickly, one that breaks the structures and systems that box us in as they self-perpetuate. Into, or out of, this breakdown, rides an outlaw. She is far, far, far from her origins, which have become stories, paper houses to which she can only return in imagination. She evades all grasps, she commandeers ships, she appears like a star or a ghost on certain nights. She invents a new iconography for a new age. ************************************************************ ******************************************Deborah: “Iconcography of the Outlaw” New album, produced by Jon Smith, out now from Odette Productions, Bordeaux, France. I also edit Louis Liard Magazine, which is now based both in Bordeaux and Seattle: check it out in my friends!I moved to Seattle in early 2007, where I've started a new project with Sienna Effinger, formerly of Winchell's Machine (Duluth, MN).
