dj BiG rOn

Born and raised on the north side of Chicago, Dj BigRon aka Ronald Grospe, grew up listening to all types of music. Touching his first turntable at the age of 13, BigRon began his career spinning Chicago House. His love for music includes House, Freestyle, Hip-Hop, R&B and Reggae which were all influenced by local Chicago DJ’s such as Bad Boy Bill and Julian Jumpin Perez as well as known artist such as Fast Eddie, Wu-Tang Clan, Biggie and 2pac. BigRon started his career djing local house parties, holiday events and various special occasions. After a few years absence, BigRon became one of the original members of Chicago’s very own TBI Entertainment. Mainly hosting parties at DragonFly with YUP Entertainment, his love for music was reintroduced to him once TBI, YUP and the all mighty Ginseng Nightlife joined forces to become Chicago’s most powerful promotion. It wasn’t until 2004 when he got his big break by joining the FunkGiants. BigRon began sharpening his skills by learning from the FunkGiants. If it were not for ChrisMix, Boywonder, KidKris and the Godfather of the FunkGiants, dj JayFunk, he would not be where he is at today. Their musical talents as well as love for music has made BigRon proud to be a FunkGiant.
