About Me

An easy-going, 26-year-old. I'm a taurus, and from what I've been told--the epitome of one. Do those two contradict eachother?! I enjoy the fact that I tote the line between stereotypical "homo" and the exact opposite, but such is life, eh? For example: I farm and dig dirt and jam out with my clam out to Boston and GNR, but was president of the drama club in h.s. and love Madonna, I'll wear Carhart and overalls by day and tight euro-trash clothing by night. People tend to think I make them laugh, which is a good thing, because if I didn't, I'd find myself in a heap 'a trouble most of the time--aka, I'm pretty crass. I fart a lot, and am proud of it. Don't hold it in man, it just makes you uptight and unpleasant to be around. At the very least one should chuckle about it. Oh yeah, I'm anti- organized religion. I pray to the dirt that gives me veggies, mint and basil if I care to pray at all. I like to smell nice too, by the way, but don't mind reaking something awful in the appropriate context (sweaty sex and farming). I want a dog or two and no children--ever. (Working with them is enuf for me! but I sure would make a great "uncle") And world peace, and a job that makes me happy, and to open my own organic vegetarian restaurant, although I am not entirely veggie myself. I'm stable. I know most people aren't, but I'd like to think of myself as such. No, really, I am. Click Here For More Free Layouts

My Interests

Nothing besides wine and micro-brews excites me more than thrift store shopping. I'm into learning about urban sustainability, community-building efforts and esp. urban agriculture. Pretty much, I like to have a good time. This could involve dinner parties, drinking, a combination of both, the ocassional night out dancing, reading, trashing republicans and lazy democrats alike, cooking, eating, baking, watching movies--hopefully with friends and better yet with a cute boy. Sex is hot, I should do it more often, but hopefully with the same person more than not. I love listening to music and NPR whilst doing practically anything. I like to entertain and be entertained. I'd love to teach one of these days, but not in the conventional sense--maybe adjunct faculty for shits and giggles and some spare cash, and certainly hands-on digging in the dirt. I love traveling anywhere, but I have a special place in my heart for France and Belgium. I want more tattoos.

I'd like to meet:

I wanna meet fellow Tauruses/Tauri(?) and those who love us. I wanna meet community gardeners. People who like movies and music of all sorts and have lots of favorites of which they wish to share with others. People who hate politics yet know that to know is to be frustrated which makes them itch to change things just to get frustrated enough to do something about it bu always wonder and critique themselves as to whatever that may be and if its "right." People who hate SUVs, and those who love what vehicles do for us, but hate those things it does to us. People who cant afford but want a hybrid vehicle for these same reasons. QUEERS who feel the same way on all said topics. Carole King, Madonna, Tom Robbins, hot frenchmen, chefs, gay guys with dreadlox, brewers

Music:

I'm pretty much into a whole slew of musical genres, but right now I listen to a bunch of acid jazz, lounge music, and "emo-folk" you could call it. Current bands on my playlist are Imogen Heap, Frou Frou, Clap Your Hands Say yeah, Acid House Kings, Lemonjelly, Saint Germain, Phoenix, Iron & Wine, Tahiti 80, Donovan, Beth Orton, 80's pop, Janet Jackson (shut up!), classic rock and other road trippin' music. If I could hire two great artists to play for me in an intimate setting, I'd prolly choose Beth Orton and Stevie Nicks. God bless her. And who doesn't like Sara Lee, I mean, Postal Service?! Tracey Thorn, Of Montreal, Rilo Kiley, Dangerous Muse, Sufjan Steven, Joan Osbourne, Chris Garneau, Jay Brennan, Feist, Timbaland,Missy Elliot, Janet Jackson, Your Mom. .. You are HOLIDAY.... You are spontaneous and fun-loving, with a sense of adventure and need for attention. You're kind of childish, and just want someone to play with. You do things that make you happy and you won't betray the things you like just because some people think they are tacky!

Movies:

I love horror movies--cheesy and well done ones both. I love all other genres too, especially black comedies and foreign flicks. Movie favorites that come to mind right now are Elizabeth ( I love Cate Blanchett), Magnolia (I love Julianne Moore), Hillary and Jackie (I love Emily Watson), Best in Show/Waiting for Guffman/Mighty Wind, Nell (yup), and Bridges of Madison County (shut up, for real, it makes me cry, and Meryl Streep is fantastic in any role). Velvet Goldmine (johnathan rhys-meyers, say no more), Drop Dead Gorgeous (catty bitches with Buffalo--oops, Minnesota accents!), Dangerous Lives of Altar Boys. . .

Television:

Don't like it. I watch the news when I get the chance. And the Daily Show and Simpsons re-runs. 'Bout it. I lied: I also watch my friend's (H)orrible(B)ody(O)dor.

Books:

ECOTOPIA--read this book! I like reading, but lately it makes me sleepy. Tom Robbins (Another Roadside Attraction was my fave of them all), Brett Easton Ellis--esp. Glamorama, Douglas Coupland--esp. All Families are Psychotic (READ THIS BOOK!) and Annie Dillard (Pilgrim at Tinker Creek and For the Time Being) are perhaps some of my favorite authors. I particularly enjoyed francesca lia Block's Weetzie Bat books. Post-modern LA wiht an underlying gay love story complete with fashionistaas and artistic flare. Hard to beat. Ooh, and for some reason that strieks me as odd, a book i cannot stop recommending is Dean Koontz's From the Corner of His Eye is spectacular. The character development is top-notch.

Heroes:

Anyone who has or is successfully 'keepin' it real' in their late-20s. And hasn't become jaded. That's the key part: NOT JADED (yet). Oh, and Your Mom. What horrible Edward Gorey Death will you die?
You will sink in a mire. You like to think you're normal, but deep down you really just want to strip off your clothes and roll around in chicken fat.
