About Me

0717 Website & Blog
well, what's to say about me? dunno, guess I try hard to fail, and even that ain't working all the time. so I'm currently wasting time in my state of mediocrity, doing the stuff I feel I should do.
I can't hide that my roots are in boardsports, my real passion after that thing called work. skateboarding, snowboarding, a little bit of surfing in summer and graphic design/illustration, that's summing up my life - not to forget my longterm relationship with Kathi (sixxa)!
skateboards are perfekt. wood - yeah, organic stuff - nice shape, no sharp edges. good size. so the most common use next to actually riding 'em is to paint on them?!? I hate the term "art", as I don't particularly consider myself artist. it's a part of my work, even though these things are more fun than comissioned stuff for clients ;-)
lemmings are some stuff I work with a lot, don't know why. It started as some kind of joke, and now I guess I like their image about beeing suicidal - which was completely made up ... still, somehow this fits to skateboarding and snowboarding: dropping off high stuff is a strange activity!
painting other stuff than canvas is always a good thing. all city style is a nice project, and I'm pretty happy that my lemmings made it onto one train! But still, I prefer bigger stuff to work on, I'm not good with tiny stuff ...
the 0717 barcode emerged when I was working on beer packaging. no joke! I wasn't drunk though, but I had to design labels with all the requirements, and bored as hell I wrote my name upside down into one. I used it on my first snowboard graphic some months later, and now it's my signature. guess I like beeing treated like any other marketed object. cheap, easy to break, and expired warrenty ...
so life size stencils work better for me, I guess. even if I'm not doing as much outside as I wish I did, walls are fun. this one shows my brother on two tricks (back from the time when we still did talk - which we don't do anymore).
d:vision - the studio that ruined my life
adhocrates collective - project with some pirates from the UK
merchzilla - the t-shirt monster is my friend!
sixxa - my girl's passion and our future ;-)
