4 Anxious Minds began in October 2005 as a three piece with no name. Once gilbertE joined up in November, the name came from left field and well... here they are. They went straight into the studio to get a demo out, and by the end of November had churned out two CaddyWampus covers and two original pieces. The music of 4AM is extremely diverse, and contains elements of rap, reggae, metal, rock & roll, and ska. The cause of such a contrasting sound is most likely two fold: first, many songs have been written over a 10 year time span, and captures the inspiring musical influences, issues, or events of the writer at that time in life; additionally, the band enjoys employing anything that they believe "rocks", regardless of whether it will be considered by the scene as "punk rock" or not. The band members have all been in other bands, including: Aftermarket, Yonke, No Way Out, and Caddy Wampus, and are all apart of the 71 records family. Any other bands in the I.E. or O.C. that want to set up a show with 4AM, send a message to this site. 4AM routinely teams up with other So Cal bands that believe cooperation, rather than competition, results in an association that benefits all involved.
