About Me
Ok, so there's been some contraversy over my name... If you're looking at my name "Andrij", and thinking "And-ridge" in your head... well, you can just keep that to yourself ;) My Ukrainian name is pronounced "On" as in "get your groove ON", "DREE" kinda like tree, only with a D in front... And if you're really good, you'll roll that R a little... So say it with me now... "On-DRRREE". If you still don't have it, come see me next time I'm out, and we'll spend 1/2 the night trying to fix it :) Sometimes it takes a couple vodka drinks...
I'm the guitarist for Shelflyfe. We've gotten the opportunity to open for some really cool bands, and see a little of the US in the process... We're still indie, but shopping (what unsigned band isn't???). We don't put too much pressure on it though, as long as we have the opportunity to get out there and play some music for some great people, that's enough to make us happy... for now ;)

I love the sound of my Les Paul running through a Mesa Boogie head... In some of my older pictures you'll see me playing on my Les Paul Studio... It's got great tone... 90% of our CD was recorded with this guitar, other than some of the tracks which were spiced up with a borrowed Fender Strat... In November I upgraded to a '57 re-issue Les Paul Custom... It's an amazing instrument. I still wouldn't mind picking up a cherry burst Les Paul Standard (I should have one guitar that's not all black... lol)... I still enjoy playing on a PRS, but feel somewhat jinxed by them ever since my Custom 22 was stolen out of a practice space.
I was born in the good ole USA, but I'm 100% Ukrainian, and very proud of my heritage. I've only been there once, but I'm always up for another visit ;) I am Orthodox, and active in my Ukrainian Orthodox Church . I used to play with a Ukrainian band named Vechirka ... I don't have the time to devote to playing with them anymore, but I do travel with them running sound... and produced their album.
When I grow up, I'm going to be a Pirate... well, everything except for the robbery, murder, and all that stuff... About 5 years ago, I was thinking to myself, wouldn't it be awesome to jump on a sailboat and go see the world on the ultimate adventure? At the time I thought that this was impossible... nothing but a pipe dream. But after a trip to the Caribbean, I decided to take a look online, and now find it remarkably common how many people have done it! Sell the car, house, all the stuff that you need on land... raise the sails... and set a course for destinations unknown! Bounce around the Caribbean for a while, maybe go down and see the coast of Brasil... come back up and go through the Panama Canal, make my way by Hawaii and off to Australia... After spending some time diving the Great Barrier reef, and seeing the South Pacific, make way to go around South Africa and head north... Spend some time in the Med, see the coast of Spain, Italy, Greece... then make my way up to the Black Sea and visit Odessa... Maybe even go up the Dnipro to Kyiv... Then eventually back across the Atlantic... It may be just a dream, but they say that sometimes dreams can come true.
