Where do I begin to tell the story of a true Emcee?Born and raised in Rotterdam NY.I started writing rhymes around the age of 17. Just freestylin' wit my friends and havin' fun wit' the bootleg instrumental cd's we used to get from the cornerstores in Schenectady. Ah, the good 'ol days.
Around the end of 2003, I started looking into computer programs that would allow me to make music without having to pay for beats or rely on lazy ass procrastinating wannabe producers.
So, I got my money right in the summer of 2004 and bought a laptop. Them came the software for making beats. At the end of that summer, I started to look into professional microphones. By December of 2004, I had released my first single, "The Real Me", a chronicling of my true life story. In 2005, I finally gave in and created a myspace page.
Was introduced to a band called Dead-Lift in the spring of '05. Went to a show of theirs at Geppetto's, a small bar in Schenectady NY. In between sets, I was introduced to the lead singer Scott Thomson. I did a little freestyle for him and handed him a copy of the couple songs I had been working .. the break, during one of their songs, I was invited to the stage by Scott. He handed me the microphone and leaned over to me saying "rip it up kid". And so I did. That was the first time I had ever done my thing on a stage with a live band and mic, in a packed house of no less than a hundred people. The feeling I got from it made me want to do it again. That night I went home, I began making beat after beat, and writing rhyme after rhyme in trying to make my first album. After having fourteen songs ready, I then began to find out how much it would cost to actually produce mass quantities of a real cd. So, I started burning cd after cd until a week later when I had 500 copies. Then I did my first show. Scott got the guys from DL to listen to my cd and they were all in agreeance to let me perform with them on a Sat. night in june of '05. At the end of the night, not one person there believed me when I said it was my first show! Sold 100 copies of my cd that night, signed some them too! Some people even wanted pictures with me! I was like "Holy shit!".That was the beginning.Since then, I have performed at such local venues as Geppettos (twice), The Skyline in Albany, Revolution Hall in Troy, The Kings Tavern in Saratoga, and I've also done some house parties and birthdays.I have shared the bill with the areas top acts such as DEAD-LIFT, DJ FLIP RUDE, Origin, Rick Whispers, DJ Turnstyle, Dead-Rabbits, Brother T, SOCIETY HIGH, SOFA KINGS, and sooo many others...Currently taking time off from shows to finish my second album. I am trying to have it completed by the end of 2008.Well, that about sums it up for me. Thanks for taking the time to read up on my life and when you see me out and about say waddup! Don't be a stranger! Unless you're a weirdo, then keep to yourself... noone like a weirdo.
Hope to see you at a show/fight sometime...
