Previously in the band Dien Kopf for 10 years, he has become a solo artist who frequently collaborates with others. This space will be used as a satellite for Alley's dance and music projects which are displayed in more detail on his seperate Alley Ink and George Alley websites found at www.georgealley.com
What is Alley Ink/George Alley Dance?
Work that gazes beyond the normal scope of gender, race, sexual orientation and class, and instead delves into the psychological makeup of theatrical characters. These characters are individual, and are made from fragments of subtext found within myth, multi-media and personal experience.Through the phenomenological process work can be embellish upon with the fragments of information collected by conducting interviews, coding text, creating maps and charts, and keeping a journal. Alley Ink Dance is a company that creates work that is both reflective of process and studied in subject. The synthesis of George Alley's studies in dance, theatre and multimedia art has been the creation of a corporal language. And while he has created a framework to develop a vocabulary from, this framework is not a codification of movement styles. While it draws upon many influences, the style created is not a deliberate fusion of different techniques.
