I wasn't even an avid rap fan when I entered high school as a freshman. I liked rap but was also into a lot of other music as well. I still to this day enjoy many genres of music but hip-hop is where my heart is. As a freshman I hung with a predominantly older crowd...many of whom were into freestyling. I would watch and listen and eventually I got to thinking,
"man I could do that shit too," so I did. I started freestyling with some of my friends that didn't rap at all just for shits and giggles, but within a year I was beginning to get better. At this point I began mixing it up with the cats rhymin at school and in the streets of my neighborhood. Unfortunately along with rhyming came smoking and pushing that ganja. I never really got into anything more serious than that but when your fifteen...fuck it. I continued to rap all through high school and I was really starting to perfect my craft when the most life altering event I have ever faced poked its ugly head onto the scene. Late in my junior year of high school I was admitted to the ICU at Saint Margret Mercy Hospital in Dyer, IN. Days past and I was getting sicker and sicker. There was five teams of infectious disease specialists studying me and trying to properly diagnose my condition. A week past before they finally came to a conclusion as to my condition. I had a super rare blood infection called LeMiere's Syndrome. I was only the fourth recorded case in the United States to date. In two and a half weeks I lost 32 pounds...I was given a 5% chance to live...I had 22 ounces of fluid removed from my lungs...i had numerous cat scans...I had blood drawn every four hours of every day...I had to learn how to walk again...it was an extremely difficult time for me. Luckily God gave me the strength to overcome the deamons and doubters that wanted to see me perish. Upon being released from the hospital, I began writing like everyday. By the time I left for college a year later I had recorded my first group album with Divine Definition titled, "Word to the Wise". Over my four and a half years at college I continued to perfect my craft. I did shows in Chicago and Indiana and began working on my upcoming solo album. The past two years of my life have been such a maturation process I sometimes don't recognize myself. I went from being a punchline rapper to using my music as an outlet to express my emotions and share my mistakes and triumphs with the world. I feel that I have a lot to share with people and this is my way of doing it. The album is only a few weeks from being released and I am beginning to get excited...I won't allow myself to get exited for real until the album is actually finished. I don't need to be some icon or superstar to enjoy what I do. I make music to express my emotions and if I reach people with what I say then that is an added bonus for me. I got much luv and respect for anybody trying to make it in this viscious industry and I wish all of you the best of luck. In conclusion...to anybody that visits my page and actually reads this far...I would love to know what you think about me and my music...i am a very down to earth person so please feel free to contact me at any time. thanks you all so much for your support...I love yall!...can't wait to hear from ya!
