about me. im not going to waste my time writing about myself in a way as to make myself appealing to everyone. i often wonder about this "about me" section. some people write a huge section about themselves and how crazy they are drunk or how much they love anime, and then others write close to nothing at all. Why is that? why is it important to make yourself sound, or look a specific way? more often then not when people write about themselves they say something to make them sound "hot" or "sexy" to their respective peers. how come? why has sex become a predominant factor in who we talk to, who we associate ourselves with? in essence as humans we are sexual creatures; but to get attention it seems that people have to somehow accentuate or prove that aspect of being. so, you might ask, what is wrong with talking about how hot you are and why everyone should want to have sex with you? because sex is not all we are, there is more to a person than sexuality. surprise surprise! as humans we can count on having physical bodies, what we can not count on, which is more crucial to a relationship of any kind, is the kind of character and personality of those you talk to. everyone is capable of flirting and sexual desire, not everyone is capable of understanding and completing you emotionally. what i see happening is guys and girls describing themselves in the above described manner and becoming caught in their own words and consequently others expectations of them. i think the saying "what goes around comes around" is appropriate. if one describes themselves as a hardcore bmx biker they are going t attract those who are interested in the same topic; it is no different when it comes to sex, except the drive is a little stronger. if you describe yourself as a sexy bitch and have glittery playboy bunnies all over your page (brace yourselves; common sense) you just might get attention from guys who are interested in sex centered relationships. and guys, if you have "player" and half naked women plastered all over your page you will most likely attract girls with low self worth who will use you to get emotional satisfaction. so, all that to say- let your yes be yes and your no be no! in other words use your words wisely, what you say shapes others ideas of you. it is important that you say what you mean to, otherwise you might find yourself in a situation where others expectations push you to prove you are something you are not.
