Jamie McHugh moved to Osnabruck in Germany when he was 17. He would often visit clubs such as the Omen in Frankfurt, Hanomag in Hannover and The Tribehouse in Neuss at every opportunity. Whilst visitng his family in his home town of Glasgow, Scotland he would venture to The Sub Club and The Arches. He started DJing when he was 18 and picked up gigs at some of Germany's leading venues. In 2005 he returned to the UK to concentrate on his music career and has since gone on to release tracks on labels including Audio Therapy, Brique Rouge, Kill Brique and Underwater to name a few with remixes for artists such as Thugfucker, Tom Pooks & Josh Wink. His tracks have been supported by the likes of Slam, Justin Robertson, Laurent Garnier, John Selway, David Duriez, Sasha, John Digweed, Darren Emerson etc.
Jamie has continued to DJ all over the world in some of the most prestigeous venues from Indonesia to Moscow, Jamie has impressed promoters and clubbers wherever he has been and is always invited back and again.
Jamie is also head of A & R at Variance Recordings and hosts the Variance show on Proton radio. His debut artist album is signed and ready for release on Darren Emerson's Underwater Records, and with a slew of high profile remixes and a packed tour Diary for 2008, It's no wonder Jamie McHugh is widely regarded as one of most exciting talents around.
