About Me

A quick word if I may:
Dodger began as an outrage and lived on as a solution. Dodger took form officially in the year 2000 and has since grown into an irresistable amalgamation of intricately textured pop and post-pop songs. Stealing musical stylings from the 60's, the 70's, the 1480's, 1920's, and today, Dodger took all this crazy shit and mixed it into a blender. The result: a delicious treat that makes your ears drunk everytime with whimsy and elasticity.
With 2 EP's under their belt, Dodger has begun recording for their full length album due to be released in January 2007. Their most recent release, Self-Titled, is a beautiful introduction to the song crafting and sound scaping of Dodger. Self recording and producing their work, Dodger has fallen captive to the artistic nature of lacing heart felt songs with exotic noise and new ideas. But don't take my word for it... Ba-duh-dun!
Critics:
"I just heard something charming: It's the new self-titled EP from Orlando band Dodger, a group that delivers a kaleidoscopic range of sounds on these six whimsical, intensely melodic songs. Not content with guitars, Dodger embellishes its intricate tunes with the odd sprinkling of banjo, bells, brass or violin, such as the loopy Scarlet Rivera-esque arpeggios of "Carbon Copper Mines and Wells, Inc.'' That sweetness is balanced by the occasional well-placed bit of distortion or dissonance. Good stuff."
~Jim Abbott Orlando Sentinel
"This is a group of individuals to watch out for in the future. Trust me. ...they're still writing catchy, intricate indie-pop and seeming to grow better and more assured each time... the band's unmatched showmanship never wavered. If I don't see these guys touring across the states and just generally blowing up, then indie rock as an institution has failed."
~Matt Gilmour Pop Culture Shock Therapy
"The music of Dodger could be just what we all needed, a wake-up call from our dreary reverie, a sound that combines smart lyrics and upbeat melodies in the style of Of Montreal...a diverse samping of songs that are equally good acoustically as they are with the addition of electric pianos, string sections and drum machine beats."
~Chris Bowers The Indie
"...the spastic rock cutesiness of [Band Name Censored to Protect the Innocent] overpromised and underdelivered; the organic crunch of Dodger did just the opposite; the other three bands I missed. "
