'Reality leaves a lot to the imagination.' ---J. Lennon

About Me

I'm a young and irresitible New Yorker living on the West Coast. I'm doing the Los Angeles thing with a New York bent. I think I'm a kind soul who's trying to make sense of the world mired in executions, hurricanes and terrorism. Bleak enough for you? What can I say, I'm a fan of truth tellers--- that come in the form of great comedians, like a George Carlin, musical sages, like Bob Dylan, John Lennon, Tracy Chapman, or filmmakers, a Woody Allen. Tim Robbins is a great artist as well.I love to read, and discussing the greatness of wonderful art, which incite our artistic sensibilities. My favorite past time would be to turn back time, perhaps to save my brethren from oppression, or to be with some of the greatest writers--- without the opium, or to be in Waiting for Godot upon its premiere... to make the audience, go "What?"Anyway, hope to learn more from you crazy cyber-nautics. My Interests

I think the greatest mystery is the human psyche, but the heart is always visible. I like knowing that our freedom is merely done by freewill and we are all in this together. I do love swimming, working with and participating in great acting, both in life and on the stage. I love to travel. I love to go to museums worldwide; favorites have to be Lourve, D'Orsay and this fantastic art museum in Brussels, I can't remember the name. I love love in all forms... both in passion and vague premises.

I'd like to meet:

The issue for me is who I would have LIKED to have met. Besides my relatives of years past, I'd dig to have met Wlliam Blake and all the cool romantics of the 19th century. I'd like to meet Bob Dylan, Martin Scorsese, Dustin Hoffman, Francis Ford Coppola, Steven Spielberg, David Mamet, Tracy Chapman and Tim Robbins. I also would have liked to meet Albert Einstein. What would I say?To see a world in a grain of sand And a heaven in a wild flower, Hold infinity in the palm of your hand And eternity in an hour. William Blake

Music:

powered by frazy.comNo, I don't listen to Mozart, Bach, Brahms perpetually, yet I really should begin~~ it recalls my musical recitals growing up. It's a shame these classics aren't picked up enough. The piano virtuosos of any era give me goosebumps from Classical to BeBop Jazz. Thelonious Monk broke all the rules of piano! Bob Dylan, Paul Simon, Victor Jara, George Harrison, John Lennon and Tracy Chapman are the best songwriters; old school Wilson Pickett, Sam Cooke and Otis Redding is as 'true' as they come.....La Reine Du France: CARLA BRUNI!

Movies:

powered by frazy.comWell, the movies I just devour, although one has said to me that I only collect DVDs for posterity and to tell everyone how great is my collection. Well, that's partially true. Citizen Kane and great documentarties like Spike Lee's When the Levees Broke, Hearts and Minds and Hoop Dreams are mandatory viewing. Schindler's List is a masterpiece. Kieslowski's Trois Colours and Decalogue I've loved for a while now, and those have to be my favorite 'mature' films. I like Tout Suite and La Vie En Rose. For sheer career-span, of course, Woody Allen's films, particularly, Love and Death, Manhattan, Purple Rose of Cairo, Stardust Memories and Match Point stand out for me. D.A. Pennebaker's documentaries on Dylan, and Monterey Pop are cool, as is Maysles Bros' Gimme Shelter. Midnight Cowboy is as haunting as ever. I love City Lights and The Great Dictator. I guess my favorite directors are Martin Scorsese, Woody Allen, Francis Coppola, Warren Beatty, David Zucker, Sidney Lumet and Charlie Chaplin, so fill in the films from these directors I neglected.
Jane Birkin, Je t'aime!
Eva Green, Je t'aime aussi! ..

Television:

I love Turner Classic Movies, most sports as well as Daily Show with Jon Stewart and SNL.

Books:

Shakespeare's Hamlet and The Autobiography of Martin Luther King. Shir HaShirim (Song of Songs) is the best in the Old Testament without getting too religious! Norman Mailer's Armies of the Night as well as Joan Didion's Slouching Toward Bethlehem are great '60s literary journalistic work, which is what I aspire to do with my writing.

Heroes:

My parents, Anne Frank, Martin Luther King, Albert Einstein William Shakespeare and Susan Neiman, my wonderful philosophy teacher at Tel Aviv University. Steven Spielberg for setting up the Shoah Foundation in Los Angeles.
