The Black Dahlia, The Big Nowhere, L.A. Confidential, White Jazz, American Tabloid, The Cold Six Thousand (anyone seeing a pattern here?). Currently reading "Vengeance" by George Jonas, the basis for the film "Munich." ....

Heroes:

Robert Evans - President of Production at Paramount from the late 60's to the early 70's. Man behind such groundbreaking films as Rosemary's Baby, Love Story, The Godfather and Chinatown. Two famous quotes: "Fighting is healthy." "There are three sides to every story: yours, theirs, and the truth...and no one is lying."
Robert ..Rodriguez - Director of "El Mariachi", "Desperado", "Once Upon A Time In Mexico", "The Faculty", and all three "Spy Kids" films. He sold his body to science to raise the money for his first film and then refused to compromise ever since. I had the opportunity to meet him when his career was lulling. I wished him more success and he achieved it. I hope one day to be his contemporary...but I will never be the man he is. He's too original.
President Theodore Roosevelt - Although to the untrained eye he seemed like one of the happiest people on the planet, he was really only masking incredible depression over the death of his father at an early age and the deaths of his first wife and mother in the same night. He was quoted as saying, "Every victory only leaves the battlefield open for another conflict."
