Soulbite is an up and coming rock/alternative band that brings Godsmack back to the good ol' days of Alice In Chains. All the members originally come from Europe (ex Yugoslavia). The history and the begginings of the band are totally different from any other band's cliche beginnings. They did not meet each other in high school, or at a local gig, no, Maki(Vox/Bass/Guitar) and Cuni(Guitar/Vox) are brothers, so that is more cliche than anything, haha!
But, the cool thing is that Cuni and Edvin(Drums) have never heard about each other until August 2004 when they met in Colorado mountains by accident. The times were tough and they both needed money, so they signed up to work as civilians hired to help in training of U.S. Army unit preparing to go to Iraq. Cuni's guitar abilities were immediately recognized by everyone in the tent, so Edvin busted out his drum practicing pad and they decided to jam to kill some time. The connection on musical and friend level was instant, and that was a birth of an idea to start a band together.
Brothers Maki and Cuni Besic, hardened civil war survivors who used music to get through the tough times when food rations and no electricity were the norm. When their home country of former Yugoslavia was being subjected to the NATO bombings of the 1990's their only consolation was in each other, their guitars and their Metallica records. After arriving in America in 2003,the Besic brothers vowed to take advantage of their freedom to pursue the dreams of their idols.
Cuni started attending the Berklee College of Music in 2004. Maki and Cuni have had a lot of songs and ideas created on thier own prior to meeting Edvin. When they all met up in Boston in November/December 2005, the musical connection was unreal. First time they set to play together, there was no need to practice. Within the first week of jamming, they recorded thier first tracks. First comments were very positive, so they decided to continue working hard on making more music. All the necessary criteria for a functioning band were present, the chemistry, musical tastes and close friendship were indicators that this band could last a long time. Currently, Cuni is on his way to successfully graduate from Berklee College of Music in order to fully dedicate himmselves to the band. The band just recently recorded their first EP SOULBITE with 5 songs on it hoping to get their ideas out to the public. Please stay updated on the future endeavours.Soulbite
