Furniture... love the stuff. I collect furniture like some collect art, it helps that galleries also collect the same pieces and call them art. My latest scores were a Saarinen chair, a Van der Rohe barcelona and a Nelson desk. But most of my goodies are Eames. I just like stuff that comes with a story.
My scooter, it's been sitting up now for years, survived Katrina and I'm building the wallet to drop her off at the emergency room and just pick her back up a few months later in one piece so if there are any scooterists in the DFW area that can suggest a great mechanic let me know. It's a 77 rally vespa that needs a full rebuild, paint, powder coating, and a 12 volt upgrade that will teeter on show quality when finished.
My bicycles, just love the freedom.
Skateboarding recently started taking advantage of all the great public skateparks and can't belief I ever stopped. I have ice packs for afterwards as my body doesn't snap back the way it used to but am enjoying it soo much.
I never got to see Johnny Cash or Joe Strummer... can someone pull some strings. Rad people who like to enjoy life. Someone who can show me around the gallery scene in Dallas. My job introduces me to all the really big collections and museums, but I like seeing the future, not the past. There's too many people I know who live in great towns & never take advantage of it, I want to meet people that will introduce me to new worlds. Still need an auto painter who's willing to work on the cheap. My scoots starting to get surface rust! My scooter had just been brought over to Houma about a month before Katrina made me float on so she's OK but now that I'm employed again she needs to get back on the road.

I ran a college radio station & everything had to pass through my hands so I really have garnered an appreciation for just about anything.
Top 5 Albums: The Clash "Live on Broadway";, Johnny Cash "Live At Folsom Prison";, The Who "Live at Leeds";, and CMJ's two radio only anniversry comps (Essentially the best of college radio from 79 to now)
lately it's been 80's hair metal! I've been running quite a bit again and Quite Riot can relly get you going. It's like every metal bands drummers were in the high school marching band so the only thing they know how to play is marches which is great when you realize you just jogged 3 miles away from home & now you need to turn around, then pops up Van Halen & you're ready to jump. Though something else that has spurred my interest are the nuggets boxed sets. They blend 60's psychadelic, garage and early punk scene beautifully and really give you insight to how music has progressed (or repeated itself.)
Local interests (NOLA, haven't seen much local stuff in Texas I really liked yet, aside for the Riverboat Gamblers...)Detonations, Quintron, the Public, Rock City Morgue, The Buttons, & if you're just visiting you owe it to yourself to go see a brass band
The Star Wars Saga (Yes, even the ones without Vader & Luke), City of Lost Children, Hudsucker Proxy, Dream with the Fishes, Jesus Son, Hedwig, Boondock Saints, Quadrophenia, Reservoir Dogs, evil dead series, anything by John Waters, Kevin Smith, or Jim Jarmusch
I'm a Bravo junkie, it started with Inside the Actors Studio, now it's essentially any series they have but have really been digging Mad Men on AMC, the Si-Fi stuff on BBC, but am about to kill my TV or at least cable as Bravo's going to basic so no longer a need to keep all 500 other channels. I can download whatever I miss out on or just subscribe in iTunes. Shows I'll always stop for: The Young Ones, Dr. Who, Colombo, any skateboard vert and the news
OK, had to quit Glue, the dyslexic in me couldn't keep up with the dialect... I'm now doing "The Immortal: Bike Messengers & the Cult of Human Power" mostly cuz I've always wanted to be a messenger & will probably one day trade in my cubicle for the streets. (a shocking thought, I see messengers pick up pints of blood at my office all the time to deliver to area hospitals... Do you have any idea the bloodbath that will occur one day if one of these cats are hit by a cabbie?)
Favorites The Thought Gang, Zen & The Art of Motorcycle Maintenance, The Ecstasy Club, The Hitchhikers Guide to the Galaxy, Hell's Angels
Dan got back in one piece, just some hearing issues but all his digits are intact. He's buying a tug to help rebuild NOLA which segues into my heroes... Anyone in NOLA! My uncle packed his bags and boat and left in the middle of the night to go to St Bernard and rescue people, didn't even tell anyone he was leaving! Amazing. And that story is still being told day in and day out out there. It's stressful to go out there so I have the utmost respect for everyone who's sticking it out, from the bartenders to the bands to the bulldozer operator; you guys rock
