How can One adequately describe their choice of music? Music is an expression of self, an extention of being. Music is the way of life, spoken in the words of the human soul. One such as I could never hope to know what music really is, much less constrict it's meaning into something so terribly simple as a two syllable word, a binding word that holds dark intonations, or a word which has been marred by so many that it has become a culture... 'Metal'. 'Industrial'. 'Punk'. I only listen, and hope to understand the true meaning behind the constrictive words, the painful melodies and harmonies, the frantic beating of the drum, of the beating of Life itself, coalesced into yet another tool for man to express with.
These things cannot be taught. These things cannot be learned. Music brings out the essence of our difference in each other: our ingenuity. Our imagination. through pure imagination we can compose symphonies, write plays, create an entire universe of complexities and there will always be the capacity for difference.
Do you see? Difference is the main foundation on which you build the Human race and all of it's complexities. Difference in imagination. Music is the expression of difference. Music is the expression of soul, for each and every person's soul is different.
So i ask that you take music a bit less lightly, for some of us stay awake at night, pondering subjects such as music. Look at music as something you can channel your emotions into. The differences in each of us can be overcome using music as a channel.
