Rockman! is a three piece Gothic Hip Hop band from Atlanta, Georgia. The members of the group, Melohim(pronounced: Mellow-heem) - (rap vocals / bass guitar), MisterWhite - (Rock vocals / lead guitar), and D.J.R.Ewing - (drums / programmed instruments), have been breaking new musical ground for over two years. During that 2 year run, the group has impressed many people throughout music industry. Their first single (Bring Back) Little Rock got so much attention they were invited guests of BET during the 2006 BET Hip-Hop Awards.
Along with making music, the 3 artists are also the founding members of the production company / indie label known as the Thinque Tanque Clique.
Breaking new ground is what Rockman! has always set out to do. While other groups have blended hip-hop successfuly with rock before, Rockman! puts an entirely new spin on this collaboration. The idea behind the band is:
"Take two entirely different genres of popular music,(hip-hop and gothic new wave) which are equally vital culturally, and create a cohesive definitive style and sound but at the same timekeeping each genre true to itself. Hip-hop doesn't need Rock and Rock doesn't need Hip-hop. Both genres are independently resonant, and since the 3 of us grew up listening to all styles of music, we want to have 2 distinct levels of musical proficiency that are packaged under one entity.We don't ever want to limit ourselves musically, ideally Rockman! would be 2 entirely different groups, who work together to spread one message. To simplify this concept,... we want to be a great hip-hop group that rocks. We also want to be a kick ass rock band that can flex on the microphone.
