I am here for Serious Relationships and Friends

About Me

I play in a band, Apollo XXL, sort of mixture of rock/punk/emo... And just starting a new more experimental band with drums, percussion and samples. I love talking about movies and books + travelling

My Interests

Playing music and acting. I sing in a couple of bands having given up playing guitar as too many people are better than me. I don't sing that well either but I put my heart into it and jump around a lot so people don't normally notice. Also reading and trying to write. Manga like 20th Century Boys, Monster, Heads...Bilal. Gadgets and playing around on computers, PSP and Chinese stuff, Kung Fu, Tai Chi Chuan, Feng Shui.

I don't like fish...

I'd like to meet:

People to chat with about Asian movies or who have similiar tastes as me, ++ Takeshi Kitano and Stephen Chow (but separately as I don't think they'd get on) and anyone looking to book a band (ask for demo)But I'm also a romantic looking for the love of my life, so who knows...

MY FRIENDS

..

Music:

Lots of different stuff but I don't go out of my way to discover new things. Can listen to the same CD 50 times running ! At the moment Ellegarden, Asian Kung Fu Generation, The White Stripes, The National, 16 Horsepower, The Kills and some French rap but when I'm feeling nostalgic, The Clash (of course), the Virgin Prunes (thanks for changing my life...), Bauhaus, Nick Cave... not forgetting Tom Waits for when I'm (just) feeling. ++ Gavin Friday, Elvis Costello, Echo and the Bunnymen, Rage against the machine, Red hot chili peppers, Killing Joke, Linton Kwesi Johnson, Iggy Pop, Violent Femmes, Les Wampas, Fugazi, Radiohead, Blur, Nirvana, The Notwist, Joe Hisaishi, Orange Range, Talking Heads, New Order, No Means No, Nirvana, Orange Range

Movies:

Crazy about Asian movies but not really the 100% Kung Fu ones. Totally in love with Takeshi Kitano (if you're reading ths T.K.) and reasonably enamoured with Stephen Chow. Also can watch Takeshi Miike (but only on an empty stomach) + Wong Kar Wai etc... Like cinema in general but not big hollywood films with happy endings... Prefer Jarmusch, Lynch, Cronenberg and Sophia Coppola

Television:

It's always on ! Especially into US series like The Sopranos and Oz. The Shield ain't bad but I can't identify with cops, even bad ones. At the moment DesperateHousewives. As for humour, The Office or Red Dwarf, Monty Python, Fawlty Towers, loads of things... but NOT Little Britain

Books:

Too many

Heroes:

No more heroes anymore

Princess Chloe (extract one)

Once upon a time there lived a beautiful princess. Her name was Chloe, Princess Chloe. Did I say beautiful? That has got to be the understatement of the year. She was a real stunner, if you know what ...
