IDC is the DJ / recording artist from London.
International DJ call IDC "the future king of electronic rock'n'roll", DJ Mag famously said "he makes music that sounds like a washing machine on crack" and Mixmag tag him "the one-man electro machine".
IDC's new single will be Bolshy Beats - out in June. The track is taken from the debut album Overthrow The Boss Class which will be out later in the summer.
IDC DJ dates include a wide range of the biggest and best : Together at Turnmills London, Zouk Singapore, Volar Hong Kong, Ochoymedio, Elastico and Fabrik in Madrid, Milkweg Amsterdam and many headline appearances in the 3,000 capacity main room of Razzmatazz in Barcelona amongst others. Festival appearances include Bestival in the UK, Summercase in Spain and Sziget in Budapest.
There were two IDC singles in 2007, both receiving 5 star press reviews : 'Stomp' ("Coming on strong like the snotty nosed, unruly bastard child of Alter Ego's 'Rocker'" - iDJ 5 stars ) and IDC's first UK chart entry 'Akai Elvis' ("you can instantly hear why it's getting the same kind of response LCD Soundsystem's "Losing My Edge" got before it reached saturation levels" - DJ Mag).
Dance press features and DJ set reviews have featured in DJ Magazine, iDJ, Mixmag and Spain's Trax magazine amongst many others. DJ Mag's "hottest names in dance" feature said "he makes music that sounds like a washing machine on crack. The great thing about IDC is that he uses the best elements of rock'n'roll (namely phat twisted electric guitar riffs) with tripped out electro beats and grotty Alter Ego-style synths. No wonder the likes of Mark Moore, Erol Alkan, Pete Tong and John Kennedy are all over his tunes"
IDC remixes include"Enemies Like This" for legendary New York rock/dance innovators Radio 4, which became the lead track on their worldwide single release; Client's single "Zerox Machine" which DJ Magazine reckoned "takes the guitar-laced original into bleepy electronica land - think Ladytron produced by SMD". IDC has also remixed Shitdisco and Spain's Lkan among others.
