Thrown under the bus

About Me

Whoa, I'm the one known as Gabe. If you've been by the Armory in the past 3 years you've seen me, and possibly died at my hands. It happens; everyone enjoys it. I also stalk the hallowed halls of ACC, in search of the elusive nursing program. It's going pretty good. School is cool.
I have fairly strong opinions in some areas of life (not politics. I despise politics), but if we disagree I won't hate your opinion or think you're stupid. We don't always see eye to eye, and that's OK. Unity, not uniformity. I'll even let you in on a secret...sometimes I'm wrong. It's true.
I'm starting up a new blog at blogspot; it'll be a little indepth and serious than the one I keep here. Check it out. http://ohtobecountedworthy.blogspot.com

My Interests

GI Joe. Cobra.
Everything that's good, and not lame, like Tetris, and Dr. Mario, and Jesus, and Mongolian BBQ, laser tag, road trips, poker, beaches, the Mystery Spot, mini-golf, overly-cute girls, sweet movies, inside jokes, random contests, my friends, Youtube, sudoku, MTG, Nick Vandermolen's basement (R.I.P.), camping, trying new things, music, being really bad at writing, meeting new people, Freecell, learning new words, using fun words (IE, sternocliedomastoid or orbicularis oris) and stuff like that. PS3 games(ie, Rock Band, Resistance, and Call of Duty 4) are all pretty fun, especially when you don't have to buy the PS3.

I'd like to meet:

Anyone that's not lame. I like people that are talkative. It forces me to come out of character when they engage me in conversation, because I'm not a people-person. It's not that I don't like people, I'm just not bold in my approach and would sooner keep to myself than start chit-chatting with a person I'm not too familiar with.
I'd like to change that.

My Blog

A moment of smarts

I'm a big fan of games. Any will do; board, card, video (not as much vidi g's, though). I'm a gamer; always have been. While mowing the Armory lawn today I was thinking about Risk. We were supposed to...

The animal unleashed

Today LTC had a fundraiser game for WoL's youth group; they're going to Costa Rica, so hook 'em up and give 'em some cash. Anywho, I asked to play, since I was going to be there anyways and wasn't ge...

The night that the lights when out in Alpena

For the second time in a few weeks, the power went out in town. Vic and I were watching The Office (which is hilarious) when it happened. After a few seconds we realized that it wasn't going to come ...

Uncle Monsterface

If you like geeky, funny music, go check them out (drr, they have a Myspace, just like everyone else). They're letting people download their new album for free, as long as you write up a review for iT...

Detroit’s good for something...

...namely, being home to a bunch of foreign hockey players. Yes yes, we've won the Cup again. Not the Quidditch Cup, but Lord Stanley's fabled Cup. It makes me happy, even though I'm not a hockey fan...

The day I said the worst thing I’ve ever said

Today we had two games; the first was at Thunder Bay JH for their No Detention Convention. That was entertaining; we debuted our new uniforms, and immediately two kids ask if we're going bowling ...

I like to huck ’em at cars

Imagine you've just been told that you are about to die; mere minutes to live. If you had the chance, just that last chance, to tell someone what you've always thought, what would you s...

Valiant knights of the porch

Another sweet dream.   There was a large gathering of people at my house; apparently, the new deal is to LARP (Live Action Role Play; get with it) massive battles on my front porch. I was watchin...

The magic number? 66.

Last night's advanced game was nuts. Sixty six players; our largest single game to date. I was skeptical at first, since it was six extra players over our cap, but it actually worked ou...

The victory in the East is at hand.

For the Detroit Pistons, that is. Once again, we've made it to the Eastern Conference finals, and I'm happy. No matter who we play we'll have the upper hand, as the Boston/Cleveland series will go to ...
