A practical idealist who grew up a tomboy and a bookworm and neither characteristics have really left. While I play the piano, guitar, and a Thai classical instrument called the ra-nard, I don't fancy myself a musician. If I truly had the talent, I'd drop everything in a heartbeat and join a band. Knowing this is unlikely, I'm content to make television programs, mostly about food, one of my other passions. I don't trust people who don't like to eat. When I met my husband he told me he didn't like noodles, and I made it clear that this relationship had little chance of survival until he remedied that situtation. He now eats Pad Thai like there's no tomorrow. True, it's the American default Thai dish, but he also can eat lots of spicy food now and enjoys it. Hooray! My sister once asked me what I lived for and I responded, "To be with my friends and family and have fun." While that may seem like oversimplifying things, it's a simple truth for me.
