Emelee Head Over Heels (Georgie Porgie Remix)
"I was sent some promo remixes last week by this upcoming young artist from the US who seems to be gathering storm at the moment. There were some pretty funky remixes of the track but it was the regular OPDJ artist Georgie Porgie who funked it up the most and made it into the monthly mix. Keep an eye out for this one shes got some potential and if she continues with the remixes, we could be seeing a lot more of lil Emelee. "

ALL ABOUT EMELEE:
Emelee is a singer/songwriter whose enchanting voice reaches well beyond the range of the average 19 year old. Her sound is sweet, yet soulful, and crystal clear like the sunshine twinkling over the Great Lakes she grew up around. Since she was a young girl, thats all she wished for--- to share her rare gift, and now her dreams are unfolding. With an albums worth of soul, R&B, and Hip Hop songs, she is poised to be a rising star in 2006 and well beyond. When I was 12, I told my mom, thats what I want to do for the rest of my life. I want to be a singer. She says.Though still a teenager, Emelee has paid her dues in the music industry. She recorded a demo soon after declaring her desire to make music. RJ Rice, the President of Detroit-based, Barak Records, the label behind the success of hip-hop group, Slum Village discovered her tape and the rest is history. She found herself on a plane with her mother whisked away from her Toledo, Ohio home to Los Angeles. She was courted by Randy Jackson of the Jackson Family fame, and primed to get in the studio. Yet west coast label woes temporarily shelved her hopes.Undaunted, the vivacious young singer returned to Ohio, but began to make weekly treks to Detroit, recording with a host of seasoned producers and performing on the local scene. During these car journeys, she listened to some of her inspirations like Mariah Carey and Whitney Houston. With Rices unyielding conviction in her talent, she patiently kept writing new music. Twistin turnin all around/ Movin shakin up and down/ the musics in my head/ Oh this feels so right being here tonight/ Youve got me hypnotized.I write about how I imagine it would be going to a club, or how I would feel as a character in a movie, or the problems people have in school. Her uncanny talent for nailing powerful vocals is obvious with a listen to her collaborations with producers, B.R. Gunna, who created masterpieces for Slum Village, who also appear on her project. Emelees sultry voice blends with the heavy soul that is akin to Detroits musical substance. I love being on stage singing for so many people.Despite the spotlight around her career, shes got a solid head on her shoulders and is close to her mom, dad, sister, and brother. A high school senior, shes enrolled in college level vocal music courses and has played leading roles in musicals. She even designs her clothes and handbags. But shes still a girl who deals with typical growing up stuff--- like boys and trying to understand the world around her. I think people are too judgmental. They stereotype and they dont give other people a chance. However, with Emelees beautiful voice, she is an easy chance to take as she steals hearts one by one.
