the masses blinded by their flag..
wrapped firm and tight around their eyes.
no question to their way of life, to thier thoughts and to their pride... maybe we should just kill all the cold hearted.
Everyone starts at the beginning so instead, let's start at the end...Middle Way is our own working title. We are always in a process of brainstormation and discussioning. Objective suggestions are welcomed and considered!!!We moved into a new jam space in downtown Montreal at some musically intoxicating digs called "Sonic Tonic." Fresh off of recording our five-song demo over two long days (Feb. 21/22/2006) at Stonewall Studio in Rensselaerville, (upstate) NY, the new space has been a productive environment to continue our songwriting process!!! Stay tuned for live renditions of songs working-titled: Chi-Chi Manga, Heavy Sunday, For All It's Been and Stars!!!!The current incarnation of Middle Way has been jamming for about a year and a half. We began jamming once or twice a week at dark and dirty joints called le Drum Solo and le Rat Hole. It wasn't until we started jamming three, four and five times a week that we got any good and settled down to write some original material. Middle Way, appropriately titled for now, is the ying-yang of two friendships to create a tight-knit group of four individuals.Franco met Guillaume and Diego through montrealmusicscene.com as well in June of 2004, while Alek was away from Montreal for the summer. Upon his return and introduction to Diego and Gdog, what would evolve into Middle Way was born.....Diego Montoya and Guillaume Lavallee met in March of 2003 through montrealmusicscene.com and began talking about starting a project together. Guillaume remembers, "I received a reply to my ad, and it was from el terrible himself, Perus pride, Diego Montoya. We started talking and I soon began to think..whoa! This motherfucker is hot! I want his ass. So I talked him into meeting up with me in a back alley..I mean at a little studio..Which we ended up calling the Rathole."Franco DeCrescentis, formerly of Edmonton hardcore legends, Compromise, and Alek Speck, washboard phenomenon with Captain Squeeze and the Zydeco Moshers (www.captainsqueeze.com), met at a show at Le Spectrum with the All-American Rejects (before they told their Dirty Little Secret), Hoobastank (before they gave us a Reason to not live anymore) and Ozomatli (who are still cool). Franco and Alek were at the show individually and recognized each other from a class they had together at the time. The first words to each other? "Philosophy!!!" .. ..
