About Me

When I was a child, I wanted, desperately, to be a ballerina. As a teenager, I wanted to be a movie star. As an adult, I finally figured out that what I am is not nearly as important as who I am, and I really like who I am today. I have a beautiful family, loving friends, a full belly, a warm place to read good books and an ipod overflowing with beautiful music. I dream of the south and know that one day soon, I'll be sipping sweet tea on a wraparound porch, smelling ocean and honeysuckle. I am anxiously awaiting November 2008 and have faith that January 20, 2009 will be America's new Independence Day.

My Interests

I love music, good food, knee high socks, my family and friends. Roller Derby has lit a fire in my soul, and love everything about it. If you can't talk music, derby, or politics (intelligently, please), I probably won't have much to say to you.

Music:

I like the good music. At last count, I have over 3000 "favorite" songs, and at least another 10,000 that make me happy. I learned long ago that the music that moves my ass and the music that moves my soul are rarely one and the same, but I need both in my life. I also know good music crosses all genres, and if music has to be defined, in order for you to listen to it or like it, you'll never hear the good stuff, and I pity you.

Movies:

I'll put the popcorn in the microwave and pour you a drink; you pop in the movie and get the couch ready.

Television:

I love Nip/Tuck, Lost, Family Guy, and every show on HGTV. For the past 5 years, I have asked for Buffy (the complete season) on DVD. It is the only thing I have specifically asked for, and I have yet to receive a single season. If you were any kind of friend, you would go to FYE (all TV shows are buy one get one free) and get me seasons 1-7. Honestly, I don't ask for much.

Books:

I enjoy a good story. Often.
