2-2-07: I'm finding that the more educated I become, the more I want to rebel against the man or the institution that big brother is desecrating. Me - Most likely to be arrested for political protest. :)
This song definitely reflects what I'm thinking when it comes to what is going on in the world today. After all, it did originate on NBC's "American Dreams," the show about turmoil in the 1960's.
You’re coming up like a flower
You’re coming up through the cracks that live ‘round here
Everybody know we have no fear
We are the wind of change change coming
We take a stand where so many never go
We will shout it out to let you know
This is my generation
We want an answer to the questions
We want to knock down all the walls they built for you
We want to know the truth not be lied to
We want to know the face of freedom
We want to make a place where we can learn to love
Build a world that we can be proud of
This is my generation
Cause we just want to dance all night
Live inside the spark of life
This might be the only time around
Cause we just want to dance all night
Live inside the spark of life
This might be the only time around
You’re coming up like a flower
You’re coming up through the cracks that live ‘round here
Everybody knows we have no fear
This is our generation
1-28-07: I think I need to go to S&FA....lol Seriously. And I never cease to be disappointed by people. What's sad is that my expectations aren't all that high. I mean, who would've thought that honesty, trust, morality, loyalty, ethics and the absence of hypocricy were too high of a bar for people to reach?
12-23-06: What ever happened to using programs such as SNL as a means of commenting on political issues and making a stand? Or have the majority of people succumbed to cowardice? I'm inclined to answer in the affirmative for most people. Which is why I strive to be as different and unique as possible.
10-31-06: I think that we need to go back to the original ideas of democracy since this one clearly isn't working all that well - you know, with all the corruption and unethical behavior, career liars, nepotism. Piss on that all. In Athenian times, public service was rotated much like jury service is now, and it was UNPAID service to boot. Why unpaid? The original founders of democracy felt that paying people for public duty would tempt people into corruption, which is exactly what is happening. PATHETIC!!!!!!!!
