Another Legal Tragedy...
& Yes YOU should be worried about how it may affect you!!!!!
A message 100% in support of Alex 'Zander' Pring-Wilson
I cannot claim to know exactly what happened on that Cambridge street between Alex and Michael Colono. Nor am I in a position to say that my own knowledge of / interactions with Alex should be enough to convince everyone of his innocence.
But what is quite clear is that Alex was denied the right to present evidence to the jury that would have shed light on his claim of self-defense. Recognizing that the first trial violated Alex's Constitutional rights, a Superior Court Judge threw out Alex's manslaughter conviction and ordered a new trial. Yet, the Prosecutor is actively seeking to return Alex to prison immediately... Can you say 'politics in play?'
When the legal system fails to work properly, as it has in this case, it is so important that we raise our voices in protest and demand that each defendant is entitled to a fair trial & the right to present a defense, as promised & protected by the Constitution. Why? Because if we don't, we are passively agreeing to allow the further deterioration of the rules of law and justice which are supposed to protect each & every one of us....
One of the greatest achievements of our legal system is that we do not permit the government to throw people in prison before they are convicted by a jury of their peers - who have heard and weighed all of the evidence that should be available to them!
If the Prosector succeeds in doing this to Alex, it sets a horrible precedent that could ultimately affect each & every one of us....
