I am here for Friends and Networking

About Me

Ahh, what's to know? I'm usually an open book. I'm a terrible liar, and I prefer life without drama (I well surpassed my quota in my youth). My conscious speaks to me loudly and clearly and can be as soothing as Stockard Channing's voice or as noticable as Ethel Merman singing. Therefore, my life is pretty boring by today's standards. I love God, and my family. I am loyal to friends and greatly enjoy the differences in lifestyles and interest that we share. I am a pursuer of dreams, no matter how long the road is. -"It is not the goal but the way there that matters, and the harder the way the more worthwhile the journey." Wilfred Thesiger I am a lesson in dicotomy - I am an idealist; lover of animals and nature, but I've also grown to love the steam rising out of manhole covers on city streets; I have more conservative political views, but despise both Republicans and Democrats; I work in a very conservative business in a fancy high-rise, but prefer walking in the rainy weather listening to my Ipod; I never wanted (or was desperately afraid of) children, but can't imagine life without Erin; I don't care for flying, but the day after a trip I'm thinking about the next one; I love the dry, brash humor of the U.K., but I'd never be able to keep up with Patsy and Edina's lifestyles; My most favorite places to live is the wet, green, mountainous, sea place that is Seattle, and of course, the blazing magical desert that is Phoenix.

My Interests

4 THINGS ABOUT ME! Four jobs I have had in my life: 1) Management-Retail (Millers Outpost, Mervyns, Clothestime, Dress to the Nines, Video Store); 2) Canvassing/Public Awareness (Greenpeace); 3) Restaurant Server (Florentine's) - p.s. I SUCKED at waiting tables, therefore I tip well!; 4) Insurance, many aspects of the business (Winchester Ins., Willis, Kibble & Prentice) - 16 years and counting..... Places I have lived: 1) Reno, NV; 2) San Diego, CA; 3) The Bay Area, CA; 4)Phoenix, AZ; 5) Seattle, WA Four TV shows I love to watch: 1) Scrubs 2) The Unit 3) My Name is Earl; 4) Anything on Discovery, The History Channel, National Geographic Four places I have been on vacation: 1) Mexico (Puerto Vallarta, Ixtapa/Ziahuatinho, and a cruise; 2) Maui, HI; 3) Monterey, CA; 4) Washington, D.C. Four of my favorite foods: 1) Thai; 2) Mexican; 3) BBQ; 4) Diner Four places I would rather be right now: 1) Traveling Europe; 2) Traveling Australia; 3) Taking a Cruise; 4) On vacation with my family.

I'd like to meet:

Bono - Of course I'd be speechless and would probably open my mouth and drool on him instead!Katharine Hepburn - She was an amazing, intelligent, independant woman with a dry wit and gregarious demeanor. She suffered an amazing loss, and made sacrifices for love. She was a fascinating person.President Woodrow Wilson, 28th President - A man after my own political heart. He fought for unity amongst country's after WWI/formed the League of Nations which eventually became the United Nations. A Constitution follower, he knew that a two-party government simply doesn't serve the interests of the people in the long run. Worked until he died.

Music:

I'm really into thoughtful, inspiring music right now.

Movies:

Murder By Death, Jumpin' Jack Flash, Valley Girl, Period/Epics, True Believer,

Television:

Someone, anyone, everyone, PLEASE STOP WATCHING REALITY TV so that networks will stop making them!

Books:

I love Fahreinheit 450, Rebecca, A Prayer for Owen Meany, Great Expectations

Heroes:

I define a hero as an everyday, average person who handles diversity, chaos, tragedy in a very admirable way. A hero is a person of uncompromising ethics. A hero is a person who handles day to day life with intuition and kindness to their fellow man and nature. My Dad is my hero, always has been. He is so perfectly grounded, fair, and utterly human. Pat Tillman was a hero; if you don't know who he was, look him up.
