About Me

Ok here's the real lowdown on Craptain Jack and the Shmees. The name was originally created as a joke several years ago when Jack Bauer and Jeremy Flora were telling people at school during lunch that they had formed a band. The theoretical band was filled out with me and Blue Bauer on guitar and Jay Tate on drums. I'm not entirely sure if we ever even told Jay that he was going to be our drummer. Tengwar and the Springfields were going strong at the time and The Voxals were still in the making so nobody gave much thought to actually making a band out of it. Craptain Jack was just something we could laugh about and talk about how awesome it would be if we really did it. Eventually Tengwar broke up and it didn't take long before Jack was jonesing for another band. Suddenly, Craptain Jack and the Shmees was looking pretty good to him. Jack went ahead and formed the band with Brandon Blair and Ricky on guitar, Andrew Abbott on bass, and as was pretty popular at the time, Robby Scarce on drums (Robby had been put on drums in like five bands that year). After awhile, Ricky decided that he didn't have time to be in the band, living in the real world and all, and Jack's life was ruined yet again. Then one day I get a call from Jack telling me that he had a dream that I was in the band and asking me if I would do it. As the only original shmee invited to be in the band I was honored and had to accept. But even though the band had a final line-up, we still didn't really get rolling. Most of us had other bands and didn't really take Craptain Jack too seriously. We had a couple practices, but never one where the whole band got together at once. We even rented a room at The Temple, but still didn't manage to get the whole band together there. Finally, Robby arranged a practice at his house where the entire band got together and in less than an hour we had our first three songs completely put together and practiced. Everything was going really well so that was the signal to get serious about the band and the rest is history.-Patrick Worley (Pootenant Patrick) I edited my profile with a sword (www.strikefile.com/myspace)Our first show in 2004.
