currently in love with: mouse on mars! also infected mushroom, gorillaz, muse... when it comes to me and music, there are two different kinds: music that you chill out and listen to, and music that you dance to. if it's dance music, it better have a beat. in peru, i..ve been having a blast with reggaeton, the south american version of hip-hop, with a kick-ass dance beat. the good discotecas also have salsa, merengue, and a sprinkling of 80..s music. and of course, i love to shake my booty to drum & bass. in general, anything good, from beatles to bach to flogging molly, tom waits(!), kid koala, red hot chilli peppars, cake, radiohead, nirvana (unplugged), dropkick murphys, manu chao...good hip-hop (not that whiney poppy shit on z100) ....hmm...yeah, i guess i'll leave it at that for now
old favorites include princess bride, the wizard of oz, fantasia, the neverending story, monty python and the holy grail, caddie shack... i loved fight club, life is beautiful, grave of the fireflies, american beauty, super troopers, office space, monty python in general....let's see....lord of the rings, the matrix (the first one), slc punk, amelie, memoirs of a geisha, hero, goodbye lenin, the fantastic planet, harold and kumar go to whitecastle, leon the proffessional, dirty pretty things, hotel rwanda, eternal sunshine of the spotless mind, memento, donnie darko, a fish called wanda, the man who knew too little....and i don..t think a single felmale makes it through puberty without falling in love with dirty dancing. and speaking of patrick swayze, i might as well admit, i liked road house. shhh!
best new show: heroes. check it out. it is the shiznit. also love scrubs, fullmetal alchemist, samurai shamploo, family guy, 24, home movies, aquateen hunger force, sealab 2020, futurama
don't get me started. sci-fi and fantasy and cyberpunk. you don't want specifics, it would take too long. i wasn't allowed to watch tv growing up, so while other kids were watching...uh, whatever it is that kids watch...i was reading tolkein and madeleine l'engle and c.s. lewis and lloyd alexander--hey, i said don't get me started. ok, i'll keep it brief: ender..s game. white oleander. neuromancer. the wonderland gambit. the red tent. francesca lia block. cs friedman. and pablo neruda's poetry, though written in spanish, would be beautiful in any language. recently enjoyed: jitterbug perfume, by tom robbins, and cat's cradle by kurt vonnegut jr. favorite books as a child: where the wild things are. the giver. the hobbit. the missing piece.
