My
career as a designer started in early high school when I had an opportunity
to work at a local skate company building skateboards and helping out
with production. My interest grew and a close friend of mine and I
started our own clothing company. Through that experience I stemmed
off to start my own silk screening business. For the remainder of high
school I made my money printing shirts for bands and various companies
around the city.
In 2002 I graduated from high school and soon after was enrolled into college for a design and multimedia program. In a years time I graduated from college and started my own design company. Things started off slow working with a few clients and testing my new skills.
Five months after graduating I was working full time with a local band, Kiros and my design business. I packed my bags and went on tour for four months across Canada taking part in various tours including the Vans Warped Tour.
After being on the road for four months my business
had been on hold, and I was eager to get things started again. I joined
up with the ..
community "The Punk Network" helping out with research and
front end design. After the launch in December of 2004 I continued
to help out and focus on my business.
Eager to learn more, in March of 2005 I started working at a local
print shop and gained more essential skills to further my knowledge.
In August of 2005 I was hired at a design firm in Calgary. Being in a new environment, I gained more skills and knowledge about the design industry and how to do business. I achieved many goals during my time there, including designing two issues of a local magazine. My time ended in April of 2006 when I had opportunity to go on tour again as a drummer.
In May of 2006 I headed south of the boarder and toured for three months in the US. I gained more life experience and knowledge about the music industry and really figured out what was important to me, and how I wanted to run my business, and live life.
So it's the fall of 2006 and I'm happy to say that I have designed a new website and I'm currently working towards my new goals, and looking forward to working with new people.
In my three years of design I have achieved and been apart of some sweet projects. In 2004 my work was released nationally for the first time in Exclaim magazine for the Canadian Drive Thru Records tour. I had a commercial that I designed and edited, that was aired on Muchloud and Muchmusic in June of 2005. In February of 2005 I did a local web ad for the Taste of Chaos Tour. In september of 2005 my first magazine design, "The IQ Report" was released (through Iradesso Communications) In 2006 my work was featured again in Exclaim magazine for the Punk Network/Warcon Records tour across Canada.
