Maxx Effex is a seasoned singer, actor, and comedian. I was born in Spanishtown, Jamaica. At the age of 14 I started my music career that led me around the world touring with musicians like Ziggy Marley, Yellow Man, Eka Mouse, and Culture. I ended up in Santa Cruz, California where I formed a band called "Mellow Maxx and the Melody Posse". We were crowned the most popular band of the year by Good Times magazine. We toured all along the west coast headlining in clubs such as Palukaville and Catalyst. Along the way I met a band called "The Sex". The lead singer invited me to be featured on their album. The band was from Hawaii where they were known as "The Roughneck Posse".
In 2002 I came to Hawaii where I met Lanai and Augie, hosts of the famous morning radio show on Island 98.5. Because of them I got the opportunity to perform with famous Hawaiian bands like FIJI, B.E.T., Natural Vibrations, and many more. I became an original member of the band "Hot Rain", and we won three different "Battle of the Bands" competitions. I was also featured on various artists' CD's and DVD's. For instance, Kapana's "You Poured Sugar On Me", Augie T.'s "Pokin Squid", High Risk Factor's "Chillaxin", and on Darrell Labrado's music video "I Want My Island Girl". I also played a cop in "Raw Sun's" music video, soon to be released.
I'm a cast member in Augie T.'s TV show "The Augie Show", premiering April 8th 2007 on Hawaii's OC16 at 7:00p.m.
