About Me

I'm 27 and for lack of a better term, we'll say I'm a musician...which is to say I'm a self-taught drummer. Obviously I'm quite the music fan be it performing, listening or watching, but I'm also really into sports, movies, and generally being a smartass. On a more personal level, I've been through quite a few hardships but remain a pretty postive person while still staying a realist. I pretty much tell it like it is and don't have a problem giving my full and uncencored opinion on any aspect of life as long as it's asked to be given. I think balance in all aspects of life is important. I think a person should derive their morals from within themselves and not necessarily by following a book. I think it's more important to go after the things you love in life than to settle on what's comfortable. I understand that not everyone is capable of doing that. I believe that people should be accountable for themselves. I believe wit is the most attractive personality trait. I believe patience truly is a virtue but shouldn't be confused with stagnance. I believe being ingenuine is a waste of time. I believe telling someone you love them should be everlasting and is not something to be thrown around or taken for granted. I believe most people are inheriently good but are too afraid to be. I believe in doing the right thing. And I believe there's an exception to every rule, even the rule itself...

My Interests

I'm quite the sports nut. I started really getting into sports around age 6 and have been hooked ever since...still have all the same favorite teams too, for the most part. Football (Denver), basketball (Lakers), baseball (Bo-Sox), MMA, hockey, boxing, golf, inner-planetary tiddlywinks...I could go on...no, I mean REALLY. I love to snowboard when it's in season, but never have enough time. I used to do nothing but play basketball, but as I've gotten older that was replaced with all the bloody drumming I do. Recently (within the last couple years) I've gotten really into MMA (mixed martial arts), poker, disc golf and massage. I have a wealth of knowledge about useless pop culture...probably more than I'd like to admit. The only thing I know more about than movies is music...and the only thing I know more than music is sports...figure that one out yourself. Music is my passion. Sometimes I fail to mention it when describing myself because it's so much a part of my life, I forget it's not just implied. I also try to stay well-rounded in politics, religion...you know, stuff that's supposed to be important. There are literally dozens of things I'd like to get involved in at some point, but as of now, I keep my plate pretty full.

I'd like to meet:

I'm down to meet anyone. Every person has a different and unique perspective on life which is always interesting. ...Ok, not always, but everything is relative. I love a free-thinker and an open mind. Someone who formulates their own opinion even if it strays from the rest of the crowd.

Music:

Movies:

Way too many to list, but I'll enjoy anything from a big budget action movie, to a low-budget indy film. I rarely get into a conversation longer than ten minutes where I'm not pulling a quote from some movie. Just to throw a handfull out there, Shawshank Redemption, LOTR, Sin City, Fight Club, Godfather I & II, Swingers, Spinal Tap, Black Hawk Down, Memento, Tombstone, both Lock, Stock & Snatch, Batman Begins, Napoleon Dynamite, Igby Goes Down, Garden State, Real Genius, American History X, Office Space, Old School, Children of Men, Ghostbusters, Donnie Darko, most Michael Mann, most Ridley Scott, Kevin Smith, Tarintino, Rodriguez, Spielberg, the Coen Brothers, appreciate the hell out of Kubrick and Hitchcock, the Tom Clancy movies, well made sports films (Hoosiers, The Natural, Bull Durham, The Sandlot, Rudy, etc.) Pixar films, most any slapstick if it's done well (ie...Naked Gun, Mel Brooks, etc.) anything Monty Python, Top Gun, big epic battle movies like Gladiator, Braveheart, 300, etc., Saving Pvt. Ryan, Band of Brothers series...bleh, that's good enough for now.

Television:

If it's not sports or music on, I'm probably watching Family Guy, South Park, Chappelle Show, Six Feet Under, Deadwood, Rome, UFC/Pride, SeaLab 2021, Robot Chicken, or The Shield. It's technically not tv but I love Homestar. I have a personal boycott against reality tv...because it sucks, except the Ultimate Fighter, that kicks ass.

Books:

Ahhh, if I only had more time...

Heroes:

I don't have a lot of heros, but if you stand up to be accounted for and justify your beliefs with legitimate reasons, I'll respect the hell out of you.
