Growing up in Hazel Crest, Illinois, I founded my first writing club, at age 7, with my two best friends, Carmen and Sharon. Like a young warrior-in-training, I spilled blood (sometimes mine, more often my opponent’s) in speech contests and classroom spelling bees for the next 11 years. After receiving my Bachelor of Fine Arts degree from Drake University, I fled Des Moines, knocked around Europe for a while, earned my actor’s union cards in Chicago and am now blissfully settled in Brooklyn, New York. A devoted fan of the moving and still image, I have worked both in front of and behind the camera (film, digital, video). Now, I volunteer with the American Red Cross and gladly serve three masters: acting, writing and taking pictures.
