About Me

News -- 4-02-08 -- I’ve added a few more tracks from my upcoming album, "Let’s Play Havoc." I thought I would add some tracks that have yet to play on this page, "Three Tears More," a Count-of-Monte-Cristo style revenge song, and "Kiroko and Kickback," a little ditty about fanaticism and star worship. You know, your basic pop songs. ;-)
Oh, also I recently uploaded new press pics for the album. If you ask enough, I MAY even upload the one of me in the cowboy hat. (FYI: I HATE most music made by people with cowboy hats.)
Oh, and right now I will upload the album artwork. I’m just about finished with the layout, then it’s off to the disc manufacturing plant for pressing. When that happens, I’ll start to figure out a release date.

News -- 1-31-08 -- My album’s done. In the can. Just got the final masters today. So, I’m taking off all the rough mixes from Myspace. I’m not quite ready to unleash the final version. You’ll have to wait for the grand marketing campaign to unfold. But until then, I’ll let you wet your whistles with the track, "Scary Ride," one of the 7 songs on my upcoming album, "Let’s Play Havoc". Enjoy.
To fill the space of the other tracks, I’ve added 3 songs from the recent Jessica Hill Art Show opening I played at Cafe Coco. You Put It There is an old song, Bought and Paid For is a fairly recent one, and Last Words is brand new. Hope you enjoy!
End of the Day

News -- 2-01-07 -- My song "Rocks Under Bare Feet and Dreams" was announced as a finalist in the International Songwriting Competition. Judges include Tom Waits, Brian Wilson, Robert Smith, Frank Black and Jerry Lee Lewis. From the ISC Website: "The International Songwriting Competition (ISC) is an annual songwriting contest whose mission is to provide the opportunity for both aspiring and established songwriters to have their songs heard in a professional, international arena. ISC is designed to nurture the musical talent of songwriters on all levels, and promote excellence in the art of songwriting. Amateur and professional songwriters and musicians are invited to participate. ISC has the most prestigious panel of judges of all the songwriting contests in the world, offering exposure and the opportunity to have your songs heard by the most influential decision-makers in the music industry."
"Hearing Tony Youngblood play live, one would think he was raised in the wilderness by a pack of tone-deaf wolves. Someone should really teach him how to play the guitar properly. He flicks it bare hand and bare knuckled, beats, spider-spins, pounds, slaps, strokes and makes strings do unseemly things. Same for singing. He groans guttural, whoops, hollers, and carves the air with a deep, raspy dirge. Nevertheless, it fits. When he’s on stage, the room will get darker or glow brighter – the ale will taste sweeter or more sour -- and the end of the show, you won’t know exactly what you’ve heard, but you will know this: you’ve heard something real." -- Sly Happershat, author of several books and pamphlets.

Well, yesterday, we put the finishing touches on a 7 song E.P., tentativley titled "Let's Play Havoc." We still have some harmonies to sing, mixing and mastering, but we're so close. I was fortunate...
