About Me

Update time... New news is good news. I just started my new job at a new preschool. I'm working with the infants and toddlers and so far it's been a great transition. I'm finding that the more I get to use my (limited) knowledge of Spanish, Sign Language, and French, the better I feel about having taken the time to learn them in the first place. I also feel very lucky to be working at the same center as Amy, one of my best friends. Lunch breaks are definitely more fun with her around. Other than the new job, everything else is slowly progressing, or has stayed the same. I still miss Summertime. Cold weather and I have never really been friends. I must admit that despite the biting cold that comes with Winter, I do love when it rains. Still, I miss baseball and sunshine and going to the lake. Enough with that, moving on. I've recently become obsessed with the show Scrubs. Anyone who might have it on DVD, please let me borrow it. One hour a day is not enough to curb my medical hijinks cravings. Dr. Cox is my new idol. So, other than that, the only real new thing with me is trying out funky colors in my hair. It all started with a bit of orange last year to comemmorate opening day for Giants baseball, and I had some bright fire engine red streaks in it for about two months, that progressed to a purple streak, and I'm now sporting a hot magenta streak (I know, awesome!) I'm open to taking requests if any of you have a favorite color you'd like to see. I'm sure my awesome sister-in-law, Jen, would be happy to oblidge. Want more info about me, just ask, I'm tired of typing for now.

My Interests

I love the summertime and almost everything that has to do with summer. Warm weather, beaches and bikinis, watersports, golden tans, baseball. I love reading and hanging out with friends. I love the San Francisco Giants and the San Jose Stealth professional lacrosse team. I absolutely love animals of all kinds (except horses, I'm petrified of them for some reason. I'd really like to get over that fear, but I haven't been able to work up that courage just yet.)

I'd like to meet:

Anyone worth spending time with.

Music:

Almost all country, some oldies, a little bit of rap and a little bit of R&B. Classic rock (a must for summertime, especially up in Clear Lake). The best groups are the ones who have been around for a while, and continue to be liked by every generation. The Eagles, Aerosmith, The Beatles, ZZ Top. The list goes on and on. I'm pretty much a fan of almost every genre of music except for heavy metal. It's just a bit too much for my ears to handle.

Movies:

Wizard of OZ, The Shawshank Redemption, Super Troopers, The Fifth Element, Playing By Heart, The Three Amigos, Ice Age, The Princess Bride, anything with Paul Walker in it (he's damn sexy), the Tomb Raider movies, the Indiana Jones movies. My movie taste is all over the place. I like action movies, and movies that make me laugh.

Television:

I don't really get to watch much TV lately, but I do love Scrubs, CSI (the original Las Vegas one, not those Miami and New York knock offs) and Gilmore Girls.

Books:

I like just about anyting with a good plot and characters that you can identify with. I love reading, unfortunately I tend to get lost in really good books and when I finally resurface I find that the day has passed me by. I finished reading Wicked and Son of a Witch. I love just about anything that might have to do with the Wizard of OZ, so they were very enjoyable, although I wish there was more story to read.

Heroes:

The teachers and coaches, both in and outside of school, that motivated and encouraged me throughout my life and helped me to make the decision to become a teacher myself. Though they may not be aware of the impact they had on me, I am aware of it every day and I thank them so much for giving me the desire to make a difference in other childrens' lives. They were there for me, and now I can be there for others.
