About Me

Profile is best viewed at 1024x768 resolution.
Well its been about 4 years or so now, I think an introduction revision is due. Whats the word Myspacers and stalkers alike! The name is KLEP ONE...Well, the Government isn't but the moniker is and its usually what I go by so lets rock with that for now :]. Welcome to my Myspace page. As you can see it is a music page since I am ONE half of the Hip Hop duo known as "The Great Ones". This is where you can find all our music, pics, blogs, bulletins, rants, etc. As well as me just wasting my life away commenting every single person I know on here at wee hours of the morning lol. You get the drift. Whatever it may be, if it has to do with KLEP ONE or The Great Ones it will all be posted up on here at one point or another as progress is made.
Klep One in a nutshell:
*I'm a humble, shy dude at first but after the ice gets broken I'm a pretty cool person to be around both online and in person.
* Funny ...Fuck that, Hillarious!
*Skinny :/. Very skinny. Can't help that tho, blame my metabolism because I eat mad junk food.
*Sarcastic. but not annoyingly sarcastic. Strictly for humor :]
*Quiet yet Talkative. I'm very soft spoken so its hard to hear what I'm saying at times and I hate being redundant so if theres nothing to say...I wont say anything. I hate people who just talk to talk. Shut the fuck up! LMAO.
*Very Creative. Lazy but can work my ass off. Full of goals and ambitions, yet too lazy to complete them at times...Very Contradictive :P.
*Picky. With just about everything.
*Sexy? Errrm...Not quite sure about that one, you let me know. I'm not arrogant or cocky enough to say that I am but I would like to think I'm not ugly at least lol. Not being modest, I'm just a humble dude.
*Insomniac (Thanks to Tom!)
*Perfectionist. Does that mean stubborn? No...just know what I want and won't stop till I get it.
*Another dose and you might be dead, Yeah I'm a Nike Head! And I say that as a sneaker lover since birth, not just someone trying to fit into a trend.
*Same goes for my clothes. Streetwear brands appeal to me alot but if its hot and I like it, I'll cop. I'm not going to buy shit just because "its hot!" in the eyes of a certain few. Fuck that.
*Most importantly above anything else...A True Hip Hop Head To The Fullest! Music is my EVERYTHING! Wake up with headphones on, go to sleep with headphones on. Constantly rambling out a lyric to a song.
I'm down to interact with y'all as much as I can (as long as you're not psycho lol) so don't be shy just hit me up if you have any questions or just want to chat and I'll get back @ y'all as soon as possible. Thanks for checking out the page. Be safe and take care. One.
My new name is 'Just The Facts'
while the rest of y'all just adjust the facts...
Name: KLEP ONE...Say what you want, just spell my name right! Age: 24...Like the show. lol. (August '83) Born: Money Making Manhattan! Repping: Washington Heights! Inwood. Nationality: 100% Dominican...but NOT fresh off the boat! Vernacular: I speak PERFECT English, my Spanish game fell off a little bit pero lo hablo bien. :] Rhyming Since: 1996. 7th Grade Lunchroom table cyphers in I.S. 52 on the 3rd lunchtable lol. The bass on that table is crazy! Education: Institute of Audio Research ...Yes, I'm not just a rapper, I'm also an Audio Engineer...Certified! Industry Experience: Internships @ Universal Music Latino (2003) , Jam Betta Studios (2003), Roc-a-fella/Island-Def Jam/Roc La Familia (2005-2006), Compound Ent. (2007) Rap Group: The Great Ones (Please see side panel) Mixtape: ...Who Knows, I get so many ideas and themes for it I'll probably change it again next week if I name it this week so I'mma leave this on a N/A until It's done. Just know that whatever its name is it will be Grrreat! "Whats in a name? That which we call a rose, by any other name would smell as sweet" - Shakespeare Available: When it drops nigga! Stop asking! Maybe I'll drop an album on November 1st, 2011? Where'd you get the name Klep One?:...it's what I used to write (Graffiti), naturally it just stuck with me and I kept it as my rap moniker as well rather than have to go by 2 or 3 different names. It derives from the word Kleptomaniac, just shortened down to Klep (as you can imagine, Kleptomaniac would be kinda long to write when you have such little time to work with :P) and the One is a graffiti thing; it represents your indivisuality and ownership of that name. One meaning the first to have and use that name...any others after have to follow suit and change theirs to Two, Three etc. and so on. But fuck it...I'm Klep One...and only! All others are jocks and frauds! Why the name "The Great Ones": Well at first we just went by our own indivisual names combined which at the time were "Louie Loo and Klep One" lol...don't ask! But later on as we started to take our music more serious, we realized we needed a more serious approach with it and give ourselves a group name rather than go by a name of 2 solo acts put together. So as I'm sitting around brainstorming names in Loo's room, I noticed a mixtape that our boy Carlos left laying around. It was a DJ Clue mixtape series called "The Great Ones" and on the cover it displayed all the legendary sport greats from Hulk Hogan to Mike Tyson to Wayne Gretzky to Michael Jordan to Rocky and the lightbulb immediately went off in my head! Loo had already changed his name to "Loo The Great" as he developed his skills and grew more serious with his music carear, so I took the "The Great" from the last part of his name, the "One" from the last part of my name...put them together and made it plural since its a duo and wahlah..."THE GREAT ONES" came about. At first of course I ran all the critical questions thru my head before deciding on that as the final name like "won't it seem too cocky" and what not but my answer to those have always been the same...1. Its what we aspire to become in our musical carrears...part of The Great Ones, everyone remembers and loves The Great Ones in any form of life wether it be sports or politics, anything you can think of...The Great Ones always go down in history as being the best at what they do and thats what we plan to do with our music. and 2. ...SO THE FUCK WHAT, WE'RE THE GREAT ONES! Don't believe it, try us and find out the hard way :P...lolol, plain and simple!
I'm on my grind cousin,
ain't got time for frontin'...
Music is my life. Point blank period. So of course the music industry has always sparked an interest in me. Its always good to know what you're getting into and how it all works and comes together behind the scenes. Behind every single album release, theres a wholllle long process full of hard work and dedication from alot of angles all working to make it come together into that tight sealed package @ the record shop. So when it came time to choose a "Plan B" it was a no brainer...Make my way into the music industry behind the scenes working at a record label. If I never make it into the industry as an artist, I would want to be somehow involved in the music business regardless. So the grind began...
After a total of 3 years in and out of different areas of the music biz, I just finished an internship @ The Island Def Jam Music Group in the Marketing department. It's honestly the best job I've ever had, I love it! Working @ a record label has been such a great learning experience for me not only as an artist but as a business person in the making. It definitely has helped open my eyes to alot of what goes on behind the scenes in the making of an album. The artist projects I helped out with during my internship were: Rihanna, Roc-A-Fella (Teairra Mari, Young Gunz, Freeway, Memphis Bleek), Roc-La-Familia (Hector Bambino "EL FATHER", Tru Life), Cory Gunz, Lady Sovereign and Nas.
I also worked in the Video Production department at Def Jam as an assistant to the head of the department and the department itself. It was a good learning experience, put me on to alot of the work and effort that goes into not only making the video as you see on MTV but the whole setting up of it going into making the video. Choosing Directors, Production Companies, Booking Flights for everbody, etc etc etc. Theres alllllllot that goes into making a song visually come to life and I'm glad that I had the chance to experience it first hand.
So I clearly can't complain about work, it's allllot of hard work at times, but its fun as hell for the most of it. Life is good! :] I'm currently, looking to write the next chapter in my "Music Industry" experience so I'll keep you all updated on what lies ahead. ;]
I used to love H.E.R. ...
So when did you fall in love with Hip-Hop?
Well most biography sections are usually written in the third person perspective, but since I myself personally run this page and write/design all my own stuff on here I figured I'd skip all the "KLEP ONE did this and that" rah rah and just tell y'all about myself the way its supposed to be done on a personal level...in the FIRST person :P.
I grew up in the Upper West side of Manhattan (El Alto Manhattan! lol), best described by my homie Riggs Morales (Washington Heights native) as a place where we "wake up to the sounds of Caribbean Music in one ear, the sounds of Hip-Hop on the other." Home of "the haze" but most noticeable the largest population of Dominicans outside of the Dominican Republic itself.
Growing up I was always surrounded by music and exposed to many different genres. Naturally the Caribbean sounds of Salsa, Merengue and Bachata were favored in my household since my family is 100% Dominican and would find any little excuse to throw a big party and blast spanish music until the sun came up. Everything from Baby showers to Mike Tyson Fights became one big fiesta with tamboras, guiras, guitars and all! Fernandito Villalona, Sergio Vargas, Johnny Ventura, Tito Puente, Alex Bueno, Frankie Ruiz ETC. ETC. ETC. the list of musical influences from the many genres of spanish music in my early years is infinite.
As a child, coming from this enviorment I grew up listening to these artists wayyyyyy before I even knew the power behind 2 turntables and a mic. I can honestly say (as corny as it may seem) it probably wasn't until the whole MC Hammer/Vanilla Ice thing that I started getting HEAVY into Hip Hop music. But thats far ahead lets rewind on how it even got to that. While my family favored in majority the Latino genres of music, they still exposed me to many other genres as a child as well. My mother and her brothers and sisters are STRAIGHT out of the "Jackson 5 Era" of the 70's! I'm talkin black and white TV's with the bunny ear antennas on the tv and red print glamour shots! So I was definitely exposed to alot of Soul music as a child as well(Al Green, Earth Wind & Fire, Michael Jackson, Luther Vandros). My Grandmother always listened to boleros and real oooooooold spanish music (Jose Feliciano and a bunch of oooold stuff I can't even name right now lol) and my older cousin I'd say is probably the one person who put me on to all the early 90's Hip Hop/R&B/Freestyle/Pop genres (I'm talking everything from Salt and Pepa to Boyz to men to Nice and Smooth to Gangstarr to Madonna to K7 to C&C Music Factory to Smooth Tha Hustla!). She's definitely the one who steered me in the direction of what would be come my one true love of music...Hip Hop!
But like I said, I wasn't even that heavy into it like that at first, I opted for more of the popular Vanilla Ice/MC Hammer emcees at first and sang along to all their tunes when I wasn't listening to my Fernandito Villalona and such. That is until one day, I think on a trip back from the beach or something I'm not sure at the moment lol...all I remember is sitting in the back seat of a car between 2 of my cousins, HOT97 on the radio and being asked "...damn, you don't know any of these songs?!" lol. Of course I responded with a "no...I've never listened to anything like this before" and the next song and I guess first REAL Rap song I payed attention to came on..."Today was a good day" by Ice Cube. Thats a moment I will never forget and credit as the one moment where I fell inlove with Hip Hop! Ever since then I knew THAT is what I wanted to do. While everyone I knew wanted to be the next Michael Jordan and go to the NBA I always stuck with the one thing I've wanted to do since that moment...become a rapper! Everywhere I went, I had a Walkman and a cassette to bump till the batteries died! Till this day most people will tell you whenever they see me I'm always stuck on some music listening device or if not reciting a rhyme or beat...it just flows thru me as natural as breathing air.
My parents eventually started to take notice of this and the fact that I stopped listening to spanish music and started listening to more and more Hip Hop music. My Grandfather even went out and copped me my first actual CD (Kool G. Rap and DJ Polo "Live and Let Die"...LMAO, Hey...so what I was like 10 years old and the cover looked like THIS , all he knew was I was in love with Rap music, that was a Rap cd so he got it for me :] ) While most kids were outside playing in the park and what not, I would sit at home and constantly listen to music in my room on my stereo and repeat songs over and over until I learned the lyrics verbatim. It wasn't until about the 7th grade though that I actually sat down and wrote my first rhyme. 7th grade will always stand out to me due to the fact that it was the first time I not only had the guts to sit down, think and write my own rhyme, but it was the first place where I experienced the whole lunch table cyphers with all my friends spitting their own rhymes while someone knocked a beat into the lunch table. This is where I first showcased my art form and took people by surprise as well as myself that I could actually RHYME!...I mean, the rhyme is garbage in retrospect and comparison lol but it was my start and I'll never forget it!
After this I stopped penning the lyrics of my favorite songs and started penning more of my own in my notebooks. A year later, my cousin asked me if I could teach him how to rhyme...so one night we just threw on an instrumental, I wrote him a quick rhyme, wrote myself a rhyme, put it all together in song format to the instrumental and explained in what I knew then about the logistics of making a song and the format yadda yadda yadda and that moment right there I credit as the creation of what would years later be known as the Hip Hop duo THE GREAT ONES!...as far as Loo's background love story with Hip Hop...you're going to have to ask him to explain lol. But anyways, ever since then whenever we got together, Loo would whip out the latest "Dream Team Instrumental Mixtape" (Yes...back when it was actually Mix TAPES!) and I'd whip out the latest single w/ an instrumental track that I copped at Sam Goody or something and we would just sit down for hours and write rhymes together and come up with conceptual songs, punchlines, even MARKETING plans at the age of like 14 and what not! Crazy now that I think about it! lol. Don't get me wrong we definitely did all this when we werent playing NBA LIVE non stop or Playing B-Ball or Flirting with girls...after all, we were 13/14 lol but whenever it came to music we got busy and down to business!
And I guess you could say the rest is history really. I'm probably leaving out alot of stuff in there but hey, like I said in the beginning, I wanted to make this as personal as I can. 1 on 1 convo between me and you on how my whole music career came about and there ya have it! No third person view, no corny quotes about how I always something something...just me and my story. And I'm sticking to it :P. Hope you enjoyed, any questions feel free to ask away!
Like KRS ONE,
heres my philosophy...
- On Friend Requests: Ah...Touchy subject in the world of Myspace! I get alot, I send alot, thats the purpose of this site isn't it to network, meet new people (some not always sane lol), and outlet (well at least for me) my music to the masses. But just as I have come to realize so should you...this (myspace) isn't a democracy. I don't HAVE to add you to my page if you send a request just as you don't HAVE to add me if I send you one. Hopefully I do, Hopefully you do. Please don't send me letters talkin' about "Why don't you add me?" because they will be ignored just as in return I won't to you if I am not, I'll just keep it moving as should you.
I handle them on a person to person basis really, check out the page, check out the pics and if I think I should add you I will. I'm not trying to have THOUSANDS of friends on here because some of you will never comment. So thats my philosophy on friend requests, person to person basis.
- On Friend Requests with Private Profiles: ...You better hope your default pic is up to par! lol...cuz if not you know whats coming! :P
- On Friend Requests with Blinkie/Cartoon/Celebrity Default Pics: ...I don't want to add Chris Brown/Omarion/TI/Nelly/Whatever POP star Fanatics, I don't want to add Donald Duck, I dont want to add those corny ass 8 bit cartoons with Ruff Ryder Football Jersey and 20 asian "ghetto" friends next to their hooked up hondas. Not gonna happen! If THAT is what you chose to be your default, chances are we have NOTHING in common or ever will. Just the facts!
- On Friend Requests with Private Profiles Because you really ARE 14: ...Not gonna happen. Holla in 4 years!
- On Friend Requests from Bands: If you're a "band" who has tried to add me by now you have already noticed that I do not add Band Pages. Reason being behind that is that most of you on here only want to SPAM THE SHIT out of myspace pages. Comments, Picture Comments, Mail, Bulletins...all you want to do is get your shit out there THE WRONG WAY! Jay-Z Does not come on myspace and he could care less about your MSPaint Banner if he did. Trust me. Grind the right way, once in a while is okay but damn y'all abuse the shit out of myspace. Therefore I have come to the conclusion that I'm only SENDING friend requests to band pages I like. I disabled the ability for band pages to send me requests. So if you're on my list and you have a band page, congratulations...your shit is hot.
- On Friend Requests with No Pictures: ...Step ya game up. No pics no love. Especially if on top of that you have the nerve to set your shit to private. Unless of course I know you somehow and you're just too damn lazy to put one up.
- On Friends who don't leave comments: Okay, I don't expect you guys to ALL leave me comments on a daily, weekly, even monthly basis. But if I added you in October and May comes around and all you have ever done is put up 100 survey bulletins and not 1 comment. Sorry but I don't care how fly you think you are you're gettin deleted. Just the facts!
- On a quick way to get your friend request denied: Make a myspace page that takes 100 years to load due to all the raining text, animated blinkie gifs, streaming videos and music all playing at once, scrolling up, down, left, right, across, backwards, diagonally and NOT be someone that I know. Oh man you're gettin cut faster than a premo record.
- On people who use fake pics online: Laaaaaaame! Straight up if you are one of these people DO NOT DO NOT DO NOT send me a request and fake the funk. I have a nice long track record of finding the skeletons in your closet and exposing you to the public so please just save yourselves the embarassment and don't click that button you will just be doing it to yourself. Why perpetrate the fraud and use someone elses identity to meet people online with? Just be YOURSELF! As fat, as nerdy, as unattractive and as uncool as you think you may be, I'm sure there is someone out there that can relate to you and will enjoy the company just as much.
- On dudes sending me friend requests: Okay...obviously I'm going to get more female friend requests than male ones being that I'm a STRAIGHT male. But every now and then I'll check the new requests and see dudes in there asking to be added. Now I don't have a problem with it but at least tell me why you want to be added. Its definitely a double standard but like I said, this isn't a democracy. I'm not just gonna add a bunch of dudes w/o knowing why. So just drop a note say you like the music whatever. I just need to know why if you're a dude that I don't know like that lol.
- On deleting me off your list: It ain't a thang...Do what you gotta do. The way I see it, if you want to delete me then we're not really that tight to begin with. So if you feel we don't communicate enough then do what you gotta do. Ain't no love loss.
- On frontin ass people: ...get deaded. If you ain't about your shit (whatever "your shit" may be) then I really don't have the time, patience or want to put forth the effort in anything to do with you. Anyone who knows me knows I do shit on the strength of love and loyalty, never money so I'm not even gonna say its a "Time is money" thing. Just simply put if you're more about talking shit up, telling me about all the shit you're doing, all the shit you're going to do and want me to do with you and then shit never gets done ever...I'm not fuckin wit you. Time might not be money for me but it sure is slim in stock and I have none to spare on frontin ass people like yourselves. So if we're peoples I really suggest you never front on me like handicapped parking cuz it'll be a wrap after the first time.
- 0n P3OplE wH0 tiiPe LyKe D!$: ...they should have never gave you niggras computers! This isn't AOL 5.0 and you're not in the "Sexy insert borough name here Mamis & Papis" chat room anymore. $T0p TyPiNg LyKe D!$!!! We all go thru our little phases when we first get our computers. Like typing everything in comic sans and then we realize how incredibley gay we are being and go right back to normal fonts like arial and verdana. Shit even Tahoma is acceptable, just dont type in comic sans if you're not 14 and under! Also...You CAN NOT...I REPEAT...CAN NOT substitute two I's for a Y. Stop typing "My" as "Mii" and "Sexy" as "Sexii" and so on. It just confuses the shit out of all of us who use the english language correctly when we're trying to read that shit you're trying to pass off as a paragraph. Sad thing about all this is, the majority of my friends list does it :/.
- If you're friendship is comment dependant: DON'T ADD ME! I have a life. I'm definitely not one to slack on hitting people up b/c I pretty much hit EVERYONE on my list up; but if you expect me to answer to every survey, every bulletin, every new picture you post then you're wasting your time. I do hit up as much as I can but just b/c you posted some "New" shit and I didnt comment and kept doing my thing and you get mad and delete me...that sounds like a personal problem. As well as a waste of you hitting Add Friend. So please, either be patient b/c I willlll eventually hit u back or don't add me at all. Just doesnt make sense when people add me and then when I come across your page on a mutual friends page and try to show love I'm already off the list in less than a week. Pointless.
Don't judge a song by its cover,
A few things about me, Believe it or not...
- I'm not on here trying to "BONE" all the girls on my friends list!:...you might notice I have alot of fly female friends on my page and on my list but some are just genuinely cool ass people and the rest are just mute lol. I request some, some request me. Thats what this shit is about isnt it?! Meeting genuinely cool people! So before you assume I'm adding you because I'm trying to get in between your legs or I'm fucking my friends list believe me you couldn't be farther from the truth. Don't be ign'ant!
- I'm a Dominican that doesn't listen/dance to Spanish Music!
...Yep! Sad but true. I'm a 100% Hip-Hop Head. That doesn't mean I'm not open to other genres of music of course, I'm always listening to new shit whatever type of music it may be but for the most part its all Hip Hop all the time with me. I can't dance spanish music for shit! I listen to some of it, whatever mom dukes leaves blasting in the kitchen radio while cooking or just some stuff I grew up on over the years but for the most part I can't even tell you who sings what. I don't do the Reggaeton thing. Sorry not for me, unless its like Playero38 (LMAO...Took it way back! Que tu sabe de eso?!).
- I couldn't tell you WHAT THE FUCK is in a Chimi! To save my life! I doubt anyone even knows. I stick to straight pastelitos when I hit the Chimi truck. My system ain't built for that 6 day old pigs meat under GE lights. I'm good.
- I actually wear my sneakers...OUTSIDE! Yes...it had to be said. I see alot of people (you guys call them "Hypebeasts" I believe) going around copping 50 pairs of kicks in the last year to catch up to the whole "Sneakerhead" craze, doesn't matter WHAT THE FUCK it is as long as it has 100 bright ass colors or 100 colors that don't match and they're 1 of 27 pairs in the whole eastern coast of Manhattan island...Then go straight home and take a million pics with them, just to post them up on myspace with their trendy shirts and hoodies, sagging their tight jeans (...what sense does that make?) and their studded chain belts (didn't we used to make fun of the kids in high school who rocked that gay shit?). But I digress...Point is, I actually wear my shit outside! I say this because I now see a bunch of people going against the grain they used to be down with the whole "Sneakerhead" label now stating "I am NOT a Sneakerhead" but ladies and gentlemen...thats like Fall Out Boy coming out saying "I am NOT Emo"...no matter what they do...it'll always be Emo. I'm just saying I rock my shit...fuck it...and I don't cop it because "its cool" or "limited edition" or "it has 100 multi neon colors" or TO SHOW OFF ON MYSPACE IN MY DEFAULT...I cop shit and rock shit because I like it. We'd need alot more than 300 if I was to do all that now trust me :P
- I've seen, know and memorized every episode of Saved By The Bell. ...well, minus "Good Morning Miss Bliss". Those episodes sucked. That fake Slater kid...pfft. The college years don't count either, they sucked as well. I'm talking everything from year 1 in HS to The Malibu Springs Episodes...Zack Morris is my idol! :]
- I don't care about a top 4,8,12,16,20,24...whatever. I know this shit is pretty much a popularity contest at this point but I'm a humble dude so I don't beg to be up on peoples lists but if you wanna go ahead and throw me up there I appreciate it, if not its cool. But if you put me up don't do it on the premise of thinking I'm gonna put you on mine lol. Maybe I will, maybe I wont. Either way. Top spots are not that serious to me. Thanks if you do, Thanks if you don't. "I might not be remembered as the best, thats cool as long as y'all don't forget me!"
- I don't read bulletin surveys!
...Sorry. But I do check out other bulletins at least :]...thats gotta count for something right? lol.

MySpacer & for the right price,
...I can even make YOUR PAGE tighter!

This section is dedicated to the pages I've worked on for clients and friends of mine on Myspace. As some people may know I design myspace layouts professionaly part time as well. Just started out as a hobby trying to improve my own page and people started contacting me interested in having their pages hooked up as well and so from page to page to page the portfolio just grew and the list of names grew larger as word spread. I don't consider myself "the king of myspace layouts" but I do think I can hook up pretty much any idea and make it come to life on your page to the best of my abilities. I usually just build of an image and everything else falls into place by itself. I also design contact tables, extended network bar images, and banners for myspace pages as well for the layouts. Unfortunately, I've been swagger jacked before by other "Myspace Layout" sites on a COACH layout I made a while back as well so clearly the masses like my work enough to copy me. If you or anyone you know is interested in having their pages hooked up, fixed or have an idea you want me to make happen feel free to hit me up. I usually charge now since I have a nice little clientele list of famous people I've worked with but depending onthe situation,my prices tend to be flexiable. Feel free to drop me an email in my myspace inbox if you're interested. Thanks and I hope you guys like my work...
