Movies:
being john malkovich, freeking awesome! borat, still makes me laugh when i think about it. most of martin scorcesse's (love gangster flicks, and raging bull is one of my all time favs), sofia coppola's, paul thomas anderson's, and the cohen bro's movies, also wes anderson's movies are great, all of these film makers really apeal to me for their asthetic and attention to detail...just the attention to colors in their movies is amazing. annie hall, and harrold and maude probably my favorite silly love stories ever, plus just plain awesome. and of course, i love most stupid and/or smart comedies, anything with will ferell makes me laugh (except kicking and screaming, sorry will, what were u thinking? paycheck, maybe?), they are a good escape.
Television:
the boob tube, well, let's see...i love project runway and the simpsons, south park. iron chef america, planet earth series. old saturday night live. ilove old 80's sitcoms like alf and the cosby show and shit like that.
Books:
water music by, t.c. boyle, the machineries of joy by, ray bradbury, anything by richard brautigan, john stienbeck (east of eden-amazing!) or kurt vonnegut. little prince, by antione de saint exupery, and where the wild things are, by maurice sendak, i have loved since i was a child.the joy of cooking is pretty much my bible. the dictionary, my atlas.
Heroes:
my mom!!!! my grandmothers!!! basically my family! the chatard sisters!!! ari who i met at earthdance 2008-hip hop revolution! julia child, a true culinary heroe. martin luther king jr., ghandi, che guevara... people who truly believe and fight for what they believe in and don't give up, even when the odds are stacked against them. artists, art is a driving force, and if you create it, in any form i have mad respect. anyone who is truly passionate about life...
