About Me

Hallo there, my names James, and im a freelance illustrator, apparently. Im sort of a fairly good person, can be far too nice and generous and much too forgiving for my own good, although often i will hold grudges, and sadly thatll be shown aftr a drink or two. im a bad drunk at times, dont let me drink, alot of inner anger can be ralseased that way. Im a worrier and i think about stuff far too much, my hair will be completely white before im 30, but then probably given too much to worry about these days. Wish i could help it but I analyse everything far too much. Although i think i manage to hide this from people a great deal of the time, which makes it eat further away at me. At times can be far too honest and speak my mind a little too much, more people should but has got me into problems in the past. Humour is important to my character, and although people say im not that funny, they still laugh which is sort of the point. Can be a bit quiet around people i dont know, but once im comfortable i'll ramble on like an idiot about absolute rubbish for ages, think that can get a tad annoying.To see more examples of my work look at www.jamesnicholls.net. Music:

My favourite type of music is classical, and up until a few years ago all i listened to was classical music, i still listen to it but not quite as much. Difficult to have favourite composers i always think, most of them only have a few pieces that i like, and i only usually listen to compilations, whole symphonies go on a bit, and i get bored. the best piece of music ever is Dance of the Knights, from Romeo and Juliet by Provokiev. Now my music tastes have broadened a little, a little more rocky i suppose. My favourite bands(in a very loose order) are: Oasis, The Beatles, The White Stripes, The Libertines, Dirty Pretty Things, The Raconteurs, Led Zeppelin,Goldfrapp, Yeti, Santana, The Coral, The Zutons, Royksopp, Arctic Monkeys, Coldplay, Zero 7, Travis, The View, Radiohead, Blur, Pink Floyd, The Little Flames, The Fratellis, Slade, Ian Brown, The Stone Roses (Only The Second Coming), The Redwalls, 22-20s, The Bees, Muse, Jimi Hendrix, B.R.M.C, Gorillaz, Jet, The Rolling Stones, The Who, The Subways, Kasabian, The Long Blondes, Good the Bad and the Queen, Buena Vista Social Club, Secret Garden

Movies:

Favourite films are: From Russia With Love (many of the James Bond films in fact, apart from a few of the Roger Moore ones which really got quite poor i think, Connerys best), Shaun of the Dead, Gladiator, Star Wars, Minority Report, Bowfinger, Airplane 1 and 2, Naked Gun Films, Life of Brian, Snatch, Brewsters Millions, Carry on Films, Lord of the Rings, and more.

Television:

My favourite TV programmes are mostly comedies, both new and old: Curb your Enthusiasm, The Simpsons, Family Guy, Life on Mars, Frasier, Scrubs, THe War at Home, The Mighty Boosh, Little Britain (new seres bad though, its a shame, sone to far), Peep Show, The Office, Arrested Development, Red Dwarf, Sykes, Spaced, Steptoe and Son, Fawlty Towers, Blackadder, Friends, Porridge, The Two Ronnies, Dads Army, Frasier, One Foot in the Grave. Probably many others, cant think of them right now. My favourite TV programme of all time is Doctor Who, a fact that is reinforced by the new series which was pretty special. I like a lot of cult science fiction, such The X Files and The Prisoner. I think across all the things i like, there is a great preference over things beng British: most of my favourite films, TV programmes and Bands are British. Favourite TV programme at the moment is Bodies, which has just finished. The books good too. Also i suppose Lost although i must admit im getting a little fed up with it, but i'll have to keep watching it. For some reason, i cant fathom why, i watch a few soaps, hollyoaks, neighbours and occasionally eastenders.

Favourit authors: Robert Rankin, Jasper Fforde, Terry Pratchett, JG Ballard, Jed Mercurio, Rob Grant. Mostly humourous sci fi/fantasy.
