About Me

Julie Kantner

These are songs I recorded, some by myself, Uranium Daughters, and some with the Boston bands, Fertile Virgin, Twig, Orans/ Balloon Chase Team. Tim Alborn of Harriet records liked to point out that none of these bands ever played outside the 617 area code, but I think there was a 508 once. We played a lot of fun shows in Boston and Cambridge, many inexplicably with bands from New Zealand. Weirdest show ever was probably Fertile Virgin playing at the Radcliffe freshman barbeque. The weirdest show that never happened, Fertile Virgin's lipsync date for the Uncle Floyd show in New Jersey. Sadly on the day of the taping Uncle Floyd had a heart attack.

My Blog

What do you get when you cross a blimp and a frog?

Ok, I've refrained so far from writing blogs of any kind, because the word blog disturbs me.First of all, the first two letters of the word; bl, as well as starting off the words blah, bloat, bleary, ...
