Against The Grain (ATG) has been a constant on the Hip Hop scene in South Carolina for over 3 years. During this time the group has branded their name in Greenville, S.C. and surrounding cities. From major performances in the Southern Slang Tour with well-known names such as Three 6 Mafia, Bubba Sparxx, and Pastor Troy, to starting their own Hip Hop event formally known as Wednesday Nite Live: The Hip Hop Experienceat Greenville's The Handlebar. Equipped with three hot artist and one blazing in house producer, some would call ATG a Hip Hop Dream Team.With respect for the pioneers such as KRS One,Rakim,Herc and Bam to southern icons such as Outkast, GOODIE MOB, UGK and SCARFACE ,ATG knows what it takes to be one of the best in the game. Their music is described as R&B, Jazz, and Funk, mixed with street. With these elements combined, many younger and older audiences can appreciate ATG. Their music can be labeled as hardcore Hip Hop, but the group has many positive messages throughout their music. Their strategy is taking negative experiences and making it positive through music. ATG is currently recording their first album, and with the Gorillaville Trilogy, a chain of mix tapes started by the group about the life in their city, on the streets, their first release will be highly anticipated.
