Kind of a goober in general. An overgrown kid in many respects. Fond of music, movies, shopping, laughing, talking, Apple stuff BBC comedies, Austin Powers, concerts, art, museums, the beach.....total 80's child w/ a random knack for remembering useless knowledge that's only good for use playing Jeopardy or Trivial Pursuit. Curious by nature....often bluntly honest, overly analytical, self-critical and cynical.
If/when I'm meant to, I will.... ;o)
There isn't much that I enjoy more...except maybe taking pictures or painting, but I think they're all pretty equal. I try to get out to see friends' shows as much as possible. As a kid, I could get grounded from the phone, the TV....nothing fazed me until it came down to getting grounded from my stereo!! AAAAH!!! Got my first radio when I was 6. My first stereo at 8. I remember going w/ my Gram to buy my first records....and ditching her in other departments at Gemco to spend my allowance on more as I got older. Wish I'd have learned an instrument. Lots of different types of music have appealed to me at one time or another - but not a complete list by any means:Portishead, the Doors, the Smiths, Duran Duran, the Devils, the Killers, Muse, Interpol, Fiona Apple, Tori Amos, Sarah McLachlan, Tool, Goo Goo Dolls, Smashing Pumpkins, Zwan, Billy Corgan, Linda Strawberry, Appogee, AllRise, Clear Static, h is orange, Imperial Z, Indicia, Just Jinger, Little Plastic Pilots, The Panic Channel, The Small Hours, Alexi Murdoch, Tricky, Depeche Mode, Lifehouse, Tonic, Billy Idol, George Michael, Madonna, the Beatles, Led Zeppelin, Fleetwood Mac, Boston, Berlin, Jane's Addiction, Journey, Elvis Presley, Rick Nelson, Echo & the Bunnymen, Love and Rockets, Bauhaus, Siouxsie, Lords of Acid, Mother Love Bone, Pearl Jam, Soundgarden, Mudhoney, Nirvana, NIN....the list is rather eclectic & goes on and on....
LOTS!! - Trainspotting, Quills, Amelie, Sense and Sensibility, Requiem for a Dream, Goonies, Sixteen Candles, Queen of the Damned, the Crow, Bill and Ted's, Dude, Where's My Car?, So, I Married an Axe Murderer, Austin Powers, Sliding Doors - there are many, many more....artsy stuff, indie stuff, stupid humor, intelligent humor, wicked humor, intelligent movies, movies that make you think, movies that are well-written, well-acted....
LOST, Six Feet Under (r.i.p.), House, Little People, Big World, Extreme Makeover - Home Edition....More of a movie girl, but.....I tend to get sucked into late-night home improvement/design shows. I love the shows where they surprise family members by making over part of the house while they're out of town. TOO cool!
J.K. Rowling and Anne Rice pretty much rock! I used to read a lot of Stephen King back in the day, but I haven't in a really long time. "The Alchemist" from Paulo Coelho is an amazing book. A friend gave it to me for Christmas last year and I finally got around to reading it a couple months ago. "Violets are Blue" - James Patterson, "Lightning" - Dean Koontz, "The Dark Half" - Stephen King, "Blackwood Farm" - Anne Rice, "Siddhartha" - Herman Hesse, "Brave New World" - Aldous Huxley.....I know there are some I'm definitely forgetting.
Anyone who follows their dreams - many people don't have the courage to do so.
