although we no longer play gigs...this profile will remain here for the fans who just cant let go.
The formation of this illustrious musical beast is a curious matter which can only really be summarised in an overly vague fashion; i.e. it happened.
The main attraction, if you will, of the ensemble is the perfectly balanced and "smooth like silk" voice of Sophie Robinson. Sophie, hailing from North London, was trained at the Royal College of Music. The direct result was not only vocal perfection, but also an ability to adapt, like a chameleon to its surroundings, to any given musical style.
Dame Julie Prior, most famed for her work with the endangered Mongolian Kangaroo, is also a priceless asset to the band. On occasion it has been suggested that Julie "pure owns the skins man", and, although I usually try to remain impartial, I have to agree. Her time in the jungle gave julie unrivaled wisdom in the field of percussion and means her driving beats are always original.
All the bands lower melodic and harmonic elements are provided by bassist and all round good guy Richard George Clocherty. His studies in the little known musical phenomenon of heavy metal (music made using heavy metal objects such as tractors, lead piping and magnets) have lead to him becoming a jack of all trades in the music world. With "fingers so fast they could skin a deer", his knowledge of a bass guitar's fretboard is something that has to be seen to be believed.
Last but not least, Ben Harrison. Benjamin's forked tongue antics on stage have won crowds over in 78 of the world's 79 countries. Although a world renowed bungee runner, Ben has found his true calling in strumming for Emergency Pound. He as also remained true to his roots with his feet planted firmly in the small field where he was concieved, born and raised. His father and father are ever so proud.
