Started in mid 2003, Triple 6 Poser live to rock, and rock hard, drawing influences from the blues tinged rock of Jimi Hendrix and Led Zeppelin, the psychedelia of the Doors and the rock n' roll licks of Chuck Berry.
Described by a KLue writer as 'no-frills rock' (whatever that means), the band went through a change in line-up and now features original drummer Eddy (of Mojo Pin fame) on vocals, allowing Khai (ex-Khaimano) to focus on guitars while Jay remains on bass. They've been steadily playing shows since they first started, honing their skills at the notorious Paul's Place. Henry (also of Mojo Pin) recently had his status elevated from occasional guitar sessionist to full-time bandmate.
The legendary Paul of the infamous 'Paul's Place' used to back the band as drummer. We've finally found a full-time drummer in the form of Ian, who's also the resident sex symbol of the band.
Triple 6 have since undergone a name change and now rock under the moniker, "Rollin' Sixers". Sometimes I like to add 'the' at the start of it (but some people think it sounds too much like 'the rolling stones'. Personally I like it both ways. And anything that is like 'the rolling stones', even the name, is a good thing). People put too much stock into the relevance of a band name anyways but the change does represent a change in the bands music as well. I think the name and the tunes are better now - ian
